Jade By Valerie Ullmer-Her Body Conveyed A Sense She Didn't Understand, It Was Telling Her That Her True Mate Was Near #MF #Shifters #EroticRomance

Genre:  Paranormal Erotic Romance

Cover Designer:  Valerie Ullmer

[ Blurb ]

Jade never wanted a mate.  She loved being an assassin and she had a family in her fellow assassins, their mates, and little Silas.  She truly had everything she needed.  But when Ghost assigned her to track the same immortals who tried to kill Xander’s family, she couldn’t refuse.

But the complication arises when Ghost requests she partner with Noah, a human and ex-special forces soldier.  Jade has never worked with a human before, much less one that hated her from the moment he laid eyes on her.  But she was a professional and if she could play a part in destroying the immortals who threatened her family, she could accept the human.  If only she knew how to fight her attraction to him.

All Noah Hale wanted was to kill the immortals who lured his best friend and fellow ex-Navy SEAL to his death.  He had no desire to be teamed with a beautiful tracker who mesmerized him the moment she turned her emerald eyes his way.  But in order to stop other soldiers from pursuing the same fate, he needed to swallow his pride and work with a group of immortals he didn’t trust.

As Jade and Noah track the group of shifters through the mountains of Colorado, the danger lurking around every corner threatens everything they both hold close.  Will they be able to find a way through, together?

[ Excerpt ]

Jade caught a scent of a human as she entered the fourteen-story building in downtown Snowfall.  It wasn’t just any human scent, but something that made all of her instincts flare.  She knew that she’d never caught this particular scent before, but something told her that this human might be important to her.  She tried to brush it off as quickly as the thought came, but she couldn’t find it coincidental she smelled it in the same steel building owned by Ghost and housed the headquarters of Dark Company.

As she dismissed the fleeting thought of searching for the scent, her heart thumped once, hard, in her chest at the thought of not finding its owner.  She forced herself to walk toward the elevator bank, ignoring the unwanted perusals she received from the men in the lobby.  Even in an unassuming hoodie and black yoga pants, she drew unwanted attention.  A side effect of being an immortal.
The elevator opened as soon as she pressed the up-button and she kept her gaze down as she walked into the elevator.  She entered the code to get to Ghost’s private floor, her movements too quick to be caught by the human eye, before she squeezed into the corner.  Jade used her other senses as three men in suits and two women entered the enclosed space with her.  There was no need to glance at the glass interior that covered the back wall to see what she looked like.

She sensed eyes on her.  Instead of searching out the gaze, she whipped her long, straight dyed black hair into a bun on the back of her head with quick movements before sneaking her hands into the front pockets of her hoodie.

Jade waited patiently as the car traveled toward the penthouse, her ultimate destination, but she couldn’t help but try to find the intriguing scent from earlier.

After my meeting.

All she knew was he hadn’t used the particular elevator she was in and the higher the lift took her in the building, the more his scent dissipated.

In her entire existence, or what she remembered of it, she’d never been attracted to…anyone.  She’d never felt the pull to find someone either.  But lately, she’d felt increasingly restless whenever she had any downtime and her skin tingled in a way that had nothing to do with signaling immediate danger.  It was as though her body tried to convey something she didn’t understand.

Her thoughts were interrupted when a man who had gotten into the elevator with her on the first floor stepped into her personal space.

“Hey, beautiful?”

Jade rolled her eyes and raised her head to glare at the man.  Of course, he wouldn’t take the hint that she wanted to be left alone.  To emphasize the point, she crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, moving away from his intrusion.

The man decided to take this as an invitation and moved to wrap his arm around her waist.  The move gave her a clear shot to his ribs and she took it, gently moving her elbow back and making contact.  She flinched when she heard a distinctive crack, realizing she hadn’t been careful enough.  Before she could apologize, the elevator door opened and he ran off without looking back, holding onto his side.
She sighed.

A Bear's Baby by Vanessa Devereaux-She Betrayed His Trust But Will He Finally See That She's His True Mate? #RomanceNovel #Shifters

Blurb

Jenna Paxton lives by her late father's standards of what an attorney should and shouldn't do. She's also a woman with a ticking biological clock. She’s thinking of turning to IVF, but hangs onto the hope that any second Mr. Right will stroll through her door.

Brady Walsh is super rich, independent, and isn't ready to settle down. When he does choose a mate, she'll be a fellow bear shifter, not a human.

Brady is Jenna’s new client, and she knows he’s not the marrying kind. When they begin a sex only relationship, she knows she’s found the ideal baby daddy.

There’s something about Jenna that makes Brady forget all about not getting involved with a human, well that is until he finds out said human used him for stud purposes, and decides he never wants to see her again.

Can fate, or in Brady's case, his fellow shifters, make him see reason and accept that Jenna is his true mate?

Excerpt:

She’d never done this with a client before. Never been so brazen with a man before. She wasn’t the sort of woman who had sex on the first date. Not even the second or third one. However, there was something about Brady Walsh that made all her past barriers and sensibilities go out the window. He was handsome, rich, exciting, self-assured and, yes, there was something about him that made her want to do a wild thing.

Practical Jenna would have calmed the impulse and waited until she got to know him better, much better, but this other Jenna didn’t want to play by her usual rules. This time she was listening to her body and not her mind.  Her pussy need to be satisfied, period.

Jenna was all fingers and thumbs when it came time to opening the office door. She knew what was going to happen once they crossed its threshold. There’d be no going back. The keys slipped through her hands and fell to the floor.

“Here let me,” said Brady.

The keys looked so miniscule in his hands as he scooped them up and placed the key with the red top, back into the lock.

Click.

Brady pushed the door open. “After you.”

Her legs shook. Apprehension and self-doubt took over. She hadn’t been with a lot of men. She guessed Brady had been with lots of women. What if she didn’t excite him?

“Let’s go through to my office,” she said, trying her best to push thoughts of why this wasn’t a good idea out of her brain.

Her office. The corner office. The one that was overly hot and got the afternoon sun. The one that had been her father’s office. The one that would have been David’s had he survived the attack all in one piece. She opted not to put the overhead lights on, but walked to her desk. Yes, she knew the exact path and how many steps she needed to take to make it to the desk without bumping into anything. She snapped on the green banker light, and turned around. Brady had already taken off his coat.

Jenna took off hers and laid it on her chair. They looked at one another and then he took two large strides over to her. He pulled her into his body. His erection stabbed at her belly as his lips found hers. She’d already guessed he’d be a great kisser, and she hadn’t been wrong. His mouth, just like him, had a demanding way about it. Something about how his lips meeting with hers and insisting, no demanding, that she open her mouth for him. His tongue slipped over her lips, making itself at home like an invading warrior who wanted to divide and conquer.

He ran his hands up her back and then down on her butt, grinding himself into her some more, and make her panties wet to the point of being uncomfortable. She hoped he’d get her out of them very soon. Brady pulled his mouth away from her. He looked her in the eye and wiped away a stray piece of hair that was stuck to her cheek.

“You’re so beautiful and sexy,” he whispered. Even his low voice was deep and had a certain demanding nature about it.

A Siren Erotic Romance

--

STORY EXCERPT

What the hell just happened? Alyson sat in the driver’s seat of the small delivery truck and sighed. Why was I attracted to three men? God! What is wrong with me? She groaned and leaned over until her head touched the steering wheel. Taking a deep breath, she turned on the ignition and pulled out of the parking lot.

When she had sat on that barstool sipping her coffee, it had felt like those three men could see into her soul. She’d never felt such an instant connection to anyone before. It was damned disconcerting. She shivered and moisture leaked onto her panties at the remembered heat of each Friess brother’s touch.

Damn it, Alyson, get your head out of the clouds. You are already in a world of trouble, and you don’t need a relationship to complicate matters further.

Alyson concentrated on her driving as she thought over her reaction to Rylan, Tarkyn, and Chevy. She’d never been interested in a man before, let alone three men. Her previous line of work had made her wary in regards to the opposite sex. Of course she’d mucked around a bit in college, but she’d never gone the whole nine yards. Men were jerks and couldn’t be trusted. God knew she’d seen that time and again after graduating.

Chevy, Tarkyn, and Rylan might have caught her eye, but their questions had unnerved her. Six months working her way across Arizona and into New Mexico had taught her to hide her secrets well, but it was as if they knew when she was fibbing. I should keep running. The handsome club owners weren’t the first enticement for her to stay in this area. For some reason she’d stopped running when she’d reached Bloomfield. It wasn’t just that moving from town to town was as hard on her nerves as it was on her body. Something about the quiet town had called to her. So five months ago she had leased a fully furnished bungalow attached to the back of an elderly couple’s house and worked at odd jobs until this one came up. She had only been working for Jerry for two weeks, and even though she was still getting to know the cantankerous older man, she liked him, a lot. He was like the father figure she’d never had.

Jerry was gruff but fair, and if he didn’t like something, he wasn’t shy about letting you know. Alyson liked to know where she stood. The thought of trying to read between lines just irritated and frustrated her. If she’d done something wrong, she wanted to know about it so she could change or fix whatever her transgression was.

Alyson tugged on the steering wheel slightly when the front wheel touched the edge of the gravel. She sighed and pushed all those disconcerting thoughts aside and concentrated on her driving. Jerry would blow a gasket if she got in an accident.

Twelve minutes later she was pulling the truck into the large warehouse. After turning off the ignition, she hopped out of the driver’s seat.

“Alyson,” Jerry called from his office door, “come into my office.”

Oh shit! Have I done something wrong? Jerry was scowling as usual, but there seemed to be an underlying tension around his mouth. Did I take too long making the delivery? Did the Friess brothers complain about me? Maybe I should have been more persistent when Tarkyn took the hand truck from me.

Alyson hurried across the blue-painted concrete floor and into Jerry’s office.

“Take a seat.” He waved his hand toward the chair across from his desk. “The Aztec Club has changed their delivery schedule.”

Is he studying me more intently than normal? Alyson tried to keep her face blank and her body still. It took more effort than she would have thought when the sexy image of the Friess brothers flashed through her mind.

“Okay,” Alyson said, and even though she wanted to ask questions, she decided silence would be more prudent. If the Friess brothers had something against her, she wasn’t about to open her mouth to help get herself in trouble. She needed this job to put food on the table and keep a roof over her head. Her last job hadn’t paid much, and she was always living from paycheck to paycheck. Maybe one day she would have enough money to start her own business and work for herself, but she couldn’t see that happening in the near future.

“You are to make smaller deliveries daily and a larger one on Saturday afternoon,” Jerry said.

“But…” She hesitated.

“Go on and say it,” Jerry said gruffly.

“That doesn’t make sense. Why would they want smaller deliveries done every day when it would be cheaper to have one larger one done every week? They’ll be paying extra for the man hours and fuel.”

Jerry studied her, and then she saw a glimmer of amusement in his eyes. She watched with fascination as a smile slowly spread across his mouth and he tipped his head back and let rip with a deep belly laugh. Alyson had no idea what was so funny but smiled anyway. She’d never seen Jerry smile or laugh. His humor seemed to lighten his whole gruff exterior. Finally with a last chuckle he looked at her and grinned as her smile turned to a frown.

“Don’t worry about it, sweetheart. If the customer wants their deliveries done every day and is willing to pay for it, why question it? The customer is always right. Your last delivery every day will be to the Aztec Club. By the time you finish up, the warehouse will be closed, so you may as well take the truck home with you.”

“You realize that I will have to park it out on the street, don’t you? I don’t have a garage or driveway I can secure your truck in.”

“You live in Bloomfield, sweetheart, not New York. The truck will be fine.” Jerry smiled again.

ADULT EXCERPT

“Help me get her clothes off.”

Chevy moved in closer and reached for the hem of her shirt. Between the two of them they had her naked from the waist up in seconds, and then Tarkyn slipped the button from her jeans and lowered the zipper. Rylan lifted her hips and Chevy helped him tug her jeans and panties down her legs then quickly removed her shoes and socks when her pants caught around her ankles and drew them the rest of the way off.

Rylan inhaled raggedly at the same time Chevy moaned. Although they suspected their beautiful mate was a virgin, she had either waxed or shaved all the pubic hair from her mound. Cream glistened on the puffy lips of her labia, and her musky scent permeated the air more strongly now that she was naked. Her breasts were much fuller than he had suspected and were topped with dusky-rose areolas and hard nipples. He had large hands, and she would overflow them.

Alyson whimpered when Rylan cupped those puppies in his hands and then pulled her nipples out from her body. Tarkyn had to taste the sweet honey dripping from her pussy right now. He knelt down again and wrapped his arms around each of her thighs and pulled her forward, away from his brother’s crotch. When he had her right where he wanted her and knew he wouldn’t touch his brother, Tarkyn slid his hands under her body and gripped her ass. Her muscles clenched as he massaged her muscularly taut but fleshy cheeks, separating them and stretching her hole as he lowered his head.

He breathed in deeply, used his thumbs to spread her labial lips even more, and then licked from her pussy hole up to her protruding pink nub. She tasted sweet and spicy all rolled into one, and he was determined to lap up every single delicious drop her body produced. Tarkyn opened his mouth wide and licked up through her folds like a cat would lap up cream, but instead of taking short little laps, he took long, slow licks. Reaching further around her thigh with his right arm, he rimmed the entrance to her sheath with a finger. She squirmed, moaned, and thrust her hips up into his mouth.

Tarkyn began to penetrate her and slowly slid his finger into her warm, wet body. She was so tight he knew that once he got his cock inside her, he would have to use every ounce of his control to hold back an orgasm to make certain Alyson would reach climax first. But that was for a little later. Right now he wanted to send her to the stars.

As he eased his finger into her pussy up to the first knuckle, her inner walls clenched and tried to pull him in, but since he and his brothers suspected she was an innocent he was going to take his time and make sure this was as pleasurable as possible for his mate. He withdrew his finger slightly and then pushed in farther while laving her clit with the tip of his tongue. Every time he caressed that engorged bundle of nerves, the muscles in her legs and lower abdomen quivered. Tarkyn wondered if she would go wild when in the throes of climax.

He looked up when Chevy leaned down and kissed Alyson. Tarkyn groaned against her flesh when he saw the openmouthed kiss she shared with his brother. Glimpses of her tongue tangling with Chevy’s had Tarkyn’s cock pulsing against the closed teeth of his fly. Alyson’s sob was muffled by Chevy’s kiss as Rylan rolled her nipples and Tarkyn thrust his finger into her until he could reach no farther.

Her internal muscles clenched around his embedded digit, and when they released again, she covered his flesh with another gush of fresh cream. Tarkyn wanted to hear her climax. He wondered if she would continue to make those little whimpering, sobbing mewls or if she would scream the house down. He hoped it was the latter, because he wanted her so wrapped up in her pleasure that she finally let go and let her body take over. Their little mate had learned to be too cautious, and he wanted to know they had all of her trust.

Tarkyn pulled his finger out and then pumped two fingers back into her tight, pretty little cunt. He spread his digits as he removed them until the tips were just inside, and as he slid them back in, he searched for that sweet spot inside that all women had. When he found it, Alyson cried out and bucked so hard she nearly threw him off of her.

“Hold her down. I’m going to make her come,” Tarkyn ordered his brothers through their mind link.

---

The Billionaire Shifter's Secret Baby is a novella that stars Lars Jensen, a member of a shifter family with viking blood featured in earlier books in the series, and is part of the Howls Romance series as well: http://howlsromance.com

Excerpt:

Under normal circumstances, Kara Jablonski would’ve been happy to pause and admire the towering blond god as he strode across the elegant lobby below the Platinum Club. His expensive black suit was obviously custom-made, cut perfectly to his broad shoulders, narrow waist, and powerful thighs. Above the impressive physique, thick hair swept away from his forehead in loose waves, gleaming like gold in the sunlight pouring in through the Boston skyscraper’s high windows. His eyes were a piercing cobalt blue. And even more stunning than the rest of him, one perfect dimple indented his chin as if kissed by a naughty, slutty angel.

Right… there. She could almost feel it under her lips.

Under normal circumstances, she would’ve taken the time to drink in every inch of him, knowing he’d never notice a girl like her even if she were openly drooling like a starving stray cat.

Meow.

But this was not a normal circumstance.

Heart thudding against her ribs, Kara lifted her bag in front of her face and scurried behind a row of potted ficus trees. After a moment, she risked peeking through the leaves at the god.

No, not a god.

A weretiger.

The breath seeped out of her, leaving her limp. How dare he look so good, so beautiful, so… unchanged?

Two years, almost three. But he hadn’t aged a day. Of course, shifters had exceptionally long lives, even shifters from the poor, forgotten branches of the breed—like her.

But she was certain she had aged a lifetime in the past two years, almost three. Everything had changed since that night.

Everything.

What was he doing here? If she’d ever thought he would show up in Boston, let alone this building, she never would’ve taken the waitressing job at the Platinum Club. So far as she knew, he wasn’t even an American. He was a globe-trotting playboy, he and his brothers loaded with as much old money as the Stantons, the powerful family of shifters who owned this building.

Well, she assumed they did. When Eva called her about working here, she’d implied as much. Eva, also a shifter of modest means, although not as modest as Kara’s, managed the Platinum Club. Eva was always looking for good waitstaff, she’d said, especially lately since there had been unusually high turnover.

He should be out in the world, enjoying his wealth, prestige, and gorgeousness—in both man and tiger form. He shouldn’t be parading around Boston when she was just figuring how to get through her life without him, not that she’d ever had her life with him, except for that one night. She and Nana had just moved into a two-bedroom apartment, and this job had an elite clientele with a salary to match. A salary they needed desperately.

Where’d he go? She peered through the branches again, an uncontrollable sigh drifting out of her.

He was out of sight and out of her life.

Again.

Another sigh.

Seeing him wasn’t only painful, but dangerous. However, as tempted as she was to turn and run out of the building and never look back—perhaps even shifting to speed her escape—she straightened her spine and held her ground.

She couldn’t leave. She needed this job. They all did. The days of only thinking of herself had passed. After waiting another minute, she stepped out from behind the potted trees and walked to the elevator. Although the waitresses had a dressing room they could use before their shifts, Kara preferred to work as she’d arrived, in her favorite black dress and ballet flats. She liked how it made her invisible—or maybe she liked an excuse for why most people didn’t notice her, and even men she’d danced with, men she’d kissed, men she’d— Well, even they seemed capable of completely forgetting her. Easier to blame it on her boring clothes than on her face, body, or personality.

He’d walked within five feet of her and hadn’t even blinked. Neither one of his golden-lashed eyelids over his sapphire-blue irises had flickered a millimeter. She’d even gasped a little when he’d stepped in front of her. All morning, in fact, she’d been as jumpy as a cat at a pool party, sweating too much, breathing too fast—she’d thought it was nerves about starting the new job.

But it was nerves about him.

The father of her child.

And he didn’t even know her name.

Too bad Derry Stanton is her business. A frequent customer at the Platinum Club where she waits tables, and now the best man to her maid of honor in her sister's wedding, the guy is everywhere. And pretty soon, she finds herself everywhere, too. In his arms, on his bed, between the sheets....

But sex is the last thing she needs.

Or it was until she meets Derry and starts hearing the Beat. And feeling a connection she'd never imagined, never dreamed, never hoped for. It's all too unbearably good.

Excerpt:

Jess Murphy walked through the wide doors into the opulent lobby below the Platinum Club, surprised by the butterflies fluttering in her stomach. The building was more luxurious than she’d expected, every inch of glass, steel, and marble gleaming like freshly minted coins. Well-dressed men and women hurried around her over the shiny floors.

“Can I help you?” asked a man from behind a vast reception desk decorated with fruit and flowers. He wore a black suit, had gray hair, and sounded like a British butler in a classic film.

“I’m Jessica Murphy,” she said. “I’m, uh, it’s my first night working at the Platinum Club.”

The man tapped something on his screen. “You are expected on eleven,” he said. “You can take either the public or the service elevator.”

She glanced at the posh lobby, the posh people. “I’ll take the service one. Where is it?”
He gestured at a side door behind him.

“Thank you,” she said, taking a deep breath as she walked across the marble floors.

Jess had to remind herself that this was only a waitressing job. There was no reason to be nervous; this wasn’t an important career move for her, just a way to pay for medical school. Because the club’s clientele was so elite, the job paid insanely well, and incoming staff members, at all levels, were screened meticulously.

In fact, she’d been hired almost a month ago, yet this was the first time she was stepping foot in the place. Instead of working tables right away, as she’d expected, she’d had to visit a notary and sign a dozen nondisclosure agreements—and then submit to a background check, personality test, and three phone interviews.

Now, finally, she could actually begin working.

She walked through a doorway into a space that looked older than the lobby, found a vintage-elevator call button, and popped a mint into her mouth as she waited for the car to arrive.

She could imagine her sister Lilah feeling exactly how Jess was feeling now, fighting her nerves on her first day as she thought of all the famous, powerful people upstairs.

Lilah had worked at the Platinum Club until last month, when she’d shacked up with her billionaire love god, Gavin Stanton. In fact, they were already planning their wedding. No more money worries for her.

No more worries of any kind, apparently.

The changes that had come over Lilah in the past couple of months made Jess uncomfortable. She was glad Lilah was happy, but it had happened much too fast. At one point, her sister had been so sex-crazed she’d claimed her rich boyfriend had turned into an animal.

Jess sighed. Lilah had always been too lusty for her own good, too easily enchanted by a pretty face.
Gavin Stanton certainly had that. And the rest of him wasn’t bad either. Not Jess’s type, but… not bad.

Shaking her head, Jess walked into the car—a gorgeous old thing with wood paneling—and pressed the button for the eleventh floor as instructed. Time to focus on the job at hand. Love was the last thing on her agenda. And sex was second to last. If she was going to survive the long slog through med school and internships to become a doctor, she couldn’t get distracted with trivialities. She had to keep her eye on the prize. Work, school, work, school, work. And more work.

The elevator stopped, not on the eleventh floor, but the tenth. Jess looked down at herself, uneasy with the tight jeans and T-shirt she wore. They’d told her the club would provide a uniform when she arrived. Hopefully whoever joined her in the elevator was just another wage slave, not anyone important in management. She wanted to make a good impression on her first day. Her impressively curvy figure looked respectable in formal clothes, but in a T-shirt, her F-cup chest had a knack for distracting people.

Damn, I should’ve worn a jacket. But it had been so hot today. Autumn in Boston could still get steamy.

The doors slid open, revealing an extremely tall, thickly muscular man with long black hair and bright blue eyes that slid over her body so thoroughly she sucked in a breath.

Talk about steamy. Now this guy was her type. He was huge. Dark. Powerful.

Dangerous.

She felt beads of sweat form at the small of her back, under her breasts, her arms. What had he bathed in that morning—testosterone? She could smell it. She could taste it. She couldn’t help sucking it in, breath after breath, eager for another hit.

A slow smile spread over his full, sensual lips. “Why, hello there,” he said. Was that a British accent?
Every alarm bell she had was clamoring so loudly in her head, she was amazed she’d been able to hear him speak.

“Hi,” she said, stepping aside instinctively. Getting too close to this man would be a mistake.
“I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure.”

Oh, crap. It was a British accent. He held out a hand.

“McDermott Stanton. My intimates call me Derry.”

Bearly Theirs by Maia Dylan- Two Males Plan To Steal Her Heart #MFM #Shifters #Erotic #Romance #Contemporary #Menage

Blurb:

Keiko Saito is having the worst day of her life — but it also happens to be the best. The same day she learns of her brother’s death and her need to return to Japan, she discovers that the feelings she has harbored for two men for almost two years are returned.

Logan and Cooper Anderson have known that Keiko was their mate from the first moment they met.  They hired her for their business and planned to steal her heart at the same time.  Their idea to take it slow is shot to hell when she learns of her brother’s death.  They are together for one night, one perfect night when they allow their feelings for each other to dictate their actions. When they awake the next morning, their mate is gone.

Can Cooper and Logan find their mate in time to save her from the future she fears, or will they lose her before she can ever truly be theirs?

**erotic romance, ménage a trois, paranormal, shape-shifter, anal sex, double penetration**

STORY EXCERPT:

“You bellowed?” Keiko inquired dryly. Both men’s facial expressions changed in the same instant.

Logan’s face slipped into its usual scowl and Cooper grinned at her. Both men started to talk at once, asking questions until Keiko lifted her hand and whistled loud and shrill. This was a skill she had perfected since coming to work at ACE and it came in handy when both men required her help.

“As developed as my ability to multi-task is, and to be fair it is definitely higher than most and that is why you headhunted me for this job in the first place and pay me what you do, I have yet to master the ability to conduct two conversations at the same time.”

“Sorry, Kei,” Cooper said with a grin that told her he was anything but.

She shook her head and cast a slight look to the heavens for patience. “Now, Logan the Jenkins file still holds the status of pending, so it will be on the shared drive.”

She held her hand up to stop him when it looked like he was about to interrupt. “Until that contract has been verified and the retainer has cleared, it will stay pending. Look in the commercial builds folder on that drive and there is a folder titled Jenkins.”

Logan clicked his mouse a couple of times and then gave her the quick thumbs-up that he had what he needed.

“Cooper, there is nothing wrong with the spreadsheet I sent you. Have you changed anything in the master data and not transposed the same formula?”

Cooper got a sheepish look on his face as he tapped away on his keyboard for a moment. When he looked up from his screen, his grin was firmly in place again. “Yep, that is exactly what I did. Again. Sorry, Kei. What would we do without you?”

He was the only person in the world that shortened her name, and she secretly loved it.

She nodded her head in response, then turned to look between the two men. “Will there be anything else tonight, gentlemen?”

“No, thanks, Keiko,” Logan said with a small smile and her heart stuttered at the intense look he suddenly got in his eyes. For some reason, it made her think of the way a predator would observe its prey. His look said he wanted to devour her, and she was only too willing to be devoured.

She swallowed audibly and felt a gush of heat between her legs.

Giving them a wide, and hopefully not too fake a smile, Keiko nodded. “Great! Then have a good night and I will see you both in the morning.”

Spinning on her three-inch heel, Keiko strode from the office pausing only long enough to grab her jacket and purse, then left. She took the elevator down from the top floor, buzzing her way out the door and into the muggy air of a Texas spring evening.

She told herself as she walked the three blocks to her bus stop that there was no way that Logan or Cooper could tell that she had basically drenched her own panties in front of them. She would simply lie down and die of mortification if they ever knew how easily they turned her on. By the time she had reached the bus stop, and her phone started ringing, she had convinced herself that her secret was safe and that they had no clue.

* * * *

“Jesus Christ,” Logan groaned as their office manager scampered from their office and out to the elevators so fast she basically left skid marks on the carpet. “Did you smell that?”

Logan turned to his brother and from the mask of barely controlled need etched on his face, it was clear that Cooper had caught it as well.

Cooper closed his eyes and inhaled deeply again. “You’re damn fucking skippy I smelled that. Keiko saw something in the look you gave her that she definitely liked. Her breathing rate increased, I could see the pulse at the base of her neck start beating wildly, and the sweet, sweet musk of her arousal fucking filled this office.”

Eyes opening, he turned to look at Logan, and Logan could see his eyes flickering green to black, which spoke of how close he was to losing control to his bear. “Our mate is needy and not going to her and fulfilling that need is fucking killing my bear.”

Logan nodded. He understood exactly what Cooper was saying. Hell, his own bear was pacing impatiently within him, roaring his desire to chase their mate and claim her as theirs, but they had to show some restraint and control. There were issues they had to sort through before they claimed their mate, not least of which was explaining the fact to her that they had the ability to shift into half-ton bears with nothing more than a thought, and were members of the Greenspoint bear sloth. That tended to be one hell of a precursor to telling someone she was destined to be the love of their lives

ADULT EXCERPT

“The first day you stepped into our office, you wore this pale blue blouse with mother-of-pearl buttons.” As he spoke, Cooper reached out and gently began to slide the buttons of the white silk blouse she wore now through the buttonholes.

“I wanted nothing more than to remove that shirt, button by button and expose the beautiful expanse of skin I knew hid beneath it.” He matched his words with his actions, gently opening the blouse, pulling it gently from the waistband of the skirt she wore.

The breath caught in Cooper’s throat at the sight of the white demi bra that she wore that pushed her breasts up, plumping them slightly at the top. “Holy…shit.”

Unable to resist, Logan leaned in and looked over her shoulder, getting the full effect of the fantastic things this particular bra did for her breasts.

“Sweet mother of God,” Logan murmured as he reached up to slip the blouse from her shoulders. “If I knew you had a penchant for wearing sexy as all fuck underwear like this under those suits of yours, we would have been here a hell of a lot sooner.”

Cooper took a deep breath to try to curb the desire building within him at an astonishing rate. “You were wearing a dark blue pencil skirt with that blouse, and I loved the way it clung to every sweet curve.”

Cooper dropped to his knees in front of her, and the sweet scent of her arousal filled the air. The waistband of her skirt loosened and Cooper knew that Logan had released the button and zip at the back.

“Now, normally, I’m the kind of guy that rips the wrapping paper off my presents and prefers to dive straight into dessert. But in this case, I’m willing to wait a few seconds more than I want to, because I have the feeling that bra you’re wearing might be part of a set, designed to drive a man insane.”

Gently, he gripped the edge of her skirt and slid it over the luscious curve of her hips, and then let it drop to the floor, leaving her standing in just her underwear, and Cooper growled at the barely there panties their woman was wearing. He looked up at the goddess who stood before him and nearly swallowed his tongue.

Gently he ran his hands up the backs of her legs. He groaned when he got to the naked globes of her ass. “You wear G-strings? Logan’s right, if we knew about these we would have been here a hell of a lot faster.”

Unable to wait another minute, he gently stripped the small scrap of lace from her beautifully bare pussy and then tugged her hips toward him.

“Lean back, love. Rest your shoulders on Logan’s chest.”

He watched as she complied, noticing that Logan had stripped the bra from her, and removed his own shirt. His hands cupped her breasts, his thumbs strumming her dark nipples, and a rosy red shade of arousal had swept across Keiko’s chest and up her neck.

“I’m gonna taste you now, love.”

Cooper gently lifted her left leg to place it on his shoulder, trusting his brother to hold her strong all the while looking up into her lust-glazed eyes and grinned.

“Feel free to scream for me.”

Then he placed his mouth right over her very wet pussy, listening to her sweet cry of shocked pleasure, and swept his tongue through the hot liquid that had pooled there, pulling it into his mouth. Her flavor was sweet and salty and so fucking addictive he knew she was going to quickly become his favorite meal. Then he settled in to drive her crazy. He took the sounds she made as verbal clues, telling him what she liked and how she liked to be pleasured.

When he swept the flat of his tongue up and over her swollen clit, she thrust her hips forward with a cry. When he gently slid his finger up inside her hot, tight pussy, she shuddered and gripped his hair, which he liked a lot, but it was when he combined the two together that had her screaming his name as she shattered against his tongue. Growling softly, he lapped up every drop of cream her body rewarded him with, loving her through the first orgasm of many he was determined to give her tonight.

As he pulled back he felt the last sliver of his heart, the part he held back in case all their plans went to hell, slide away and join the rest, completely and utterly with her.

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A: Every book is special, and I love all that I have written and the ones I have yet to write!  But this one is special because it brings in a little Japanese element that means a lot to me.  I lived in Japan for three years and it is a language and culture that is near and dear to me.

Q:  Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all.  Have you had this happen to you?

A:  Heaps!  I am not a planner.  I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl.  There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF?  I did not see that coming!

Q.  Is that why you always include a danger element to your books?

A.  I write what I love to read.  I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book.  As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery.  I want to give that to my readers.

Q.  What are you working on at the moment?

A.  I have quite a few WIPS on the go at any one time.  Right now I am working on book 9 ni my Grey River series, book three in my Sniper Team Bravo series, a collaboration work I have on the go with Sarah Marsh and Elena Kincaid and a couple of stand alones that had caught my muse’s interest.

Q.  Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?

A.  If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much!  It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it!  Did you?  Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing.  If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley!

Beast Untamed by Faye Avalon #Paranormal #Erotic #Romance #HeMustClaimHisMate

To guard his woman, he must claim his mate.

Book Blurb:
Beasts of Bodmin Moor, Book 3

Ex-special forces operative Nathan Quinn enjoys women, but he just doesn’t trust them. Thanks to a mother who abandoned him, he prefers no-strings relationships, and has no intention of ever marrying or mating with a fellow shifter.

He focuses his energy on building his security business until a human woman catches his eye—and firmly rejects his charm. Which only challenges him to work harder to break down her barriers.
Born of ambitious, emotionally cold parents, Erin Howard’s craving for attention led her down a slippery slope to an abusive relationship. Now on the run from her ex, she plans to lay low and stay away from possessive, dominating males. But who says she can’t enjoy a little hot sex without a shred of commitment?

Soon their attraction explodes into something so fierce, that Nathan feels the primal need to mark Erin as his. But his fallback plan—distance himself—creates the space for Erin’s past to drive the final, possibly fatal, wedge between them.

Excerpt:

Nerves fluttered in her belly, but Erin breathed them away. She was going to enjoy herself tonight. She was going to be normal, make conversation, have fun.

But when the door swung open in response to her knock, those nerves came flooding back with a vengeance. The man towered in the doorway, his dark and brooding good looks like something in a magazine devoted to warrior gods of times long ago.

“You must be Erin,” he said, the hint of a smile softening almost harsh features. “Come on in.”

He stepped back, and Erin was about to enter when Talia came down the hallway. “Great. You’re early. We can have a drink before we get going. You’ve met Caleb?”

Erin looked up at the man. Handsome, and built. No wonder Talia always had a satisfied smile on her face.

No sooner had she accepted Caleb’s outstretched hand than Talia reached out and all but pulled Erin into the house. “Come and meet everyone.”

Everyone?

Erin’s knees went wobbly, her stomach pitching in a way that had her evening snack threatening to revolt. Maybe she wasn’t ready for this after all. It was too soon. She needed time to adjust, to work out exactly who she was going to be, before she thrust herself into life again.

Talia had other ideas and guided her into a room off the hall. Stepping across the threshold, she heard Naomi’s laughter. Her new friend had her arms wrapped around the neck of a formidable-looking man who in turn had his arms wrapped around her.

“Break that up, you two,” Talia instructed. “Save it for your wedding night.”

“That’s days away yet,” Naomi complained, smiling up at the man who was obviously Tynan. “He can’t keep his hands off me for that long.”

“My female speaks the truth,” Tynan said. “Anyway the mating has already—”

“Ahem…” Talia loudly cleared her throat, and the couple looked over. “We have company.”
Erin had the distinct impression she’d interrupted something, and not just a heated embrace between an engaged couple. But the smiles that headed her way, and the companionable way Talia slid an arm around her waist, made her think she’d imagined it. She must be so on edge lately that she was seeing spooks where none existed.

“Come and meet Tynan,” Naomi said, grabbing her away from Talia. “Ty, this is Erin. She hasn’t been in Bodmin very long, and she works at the tea shop, remember?”

A look passed between the couple, and again Erin felt as if she was missing something.
But then Tynan smiled and held out his hand. “Good to meet you, Erin. Hope you’re ready for a raucous evening.” He slipped an arm around Naomi’s shoulder, and the simple gesture was filled with possessive intent. “According to my woman, you’re all going to party enough to set the moor alight.”

“Well, I…”

“Don’t listen to him,” Naomi said. “Tynan, take her coat. We’re having a drink here while we wait for a couple of the other girls to arrive. What’s your pleasure?”

“Lime and soda if you have it.” She smiled when Tynan helped her out of her coat.

“Forget that.” Talia ushered her onto the sofa. “No soft drinks allowed tonight. Unless you’re allergic or sworn off alcohol on religious grounds. No? So, what’ll it be?”

“White wine would be good.”

While Caleb went across to the drinks cabinet, Talia sat next to her on the sofa. “Love your dress.”

“Thanks.” Erin tugged the skirt of the simple navy shift down to her knees. “Naomi said I had to wear something good.”

“I said something sexy.” Naomi plunked herself on Erin’s other side and eyed Erin’s dress. “I would have preferred more of a cleavage,” she said in a hushed tone that only the girls could hear. “But I’m not complaining.”

Grateful, Erin took the drink Caleb handed her and took a healthy swig. Conversation turned to logistics regarding transport for the evening, with Tynan and Caleb sitting side by side on the opposite sofa. Good Lord, Erin thought, taking several surreptitious sips of her wine. The room positively hummed with masculine appeal. She couldn’t remember ever seeing two more intimidating men in her life, or two more attractive and virile, but while they seemed tough and formidable, she didn’t feel especially uneasy in their company.

It was apparent from the looks and smiles the men each shared with Talia and Naomi that there was a whole bucketload of love in the room. In their men’s presence, the women seemed relaxed and completely at ease with themselves. Erin wondered how that must feel, considering her own experience had only ever been one of fear and intimidation.

The sound of the front door closing and heavy footsteps pounding down the hallway brought Erin from her reverie before she could take a painful trip down memory lane.

If she’d thought the testosterone levels couldn’t rise any higher, she hadn’t been prepared for the man who stepped into the room. Built like a tank, his shoulders filled the doorway, while the heavy scowl pushed the first real fluttering of fear into her since she’d arrived.

“If you expect me to drive that piece of garbage, you could have at least washed it first.”

The deep timbre of his voice and the edge of vitriol in his tone caused Erin to slink down a little in the seat, but since his attack was aimed at Tynan, she tried to steady her breathing. Her heart hammered anyway, her mind scanning back to a time when a similar attack was aimed at her.

“You want me to fill that junk trap with gas for you? Then you’d better make it worth my while by getting on that bed and spreading your legs for me. Now.”

Oh God. Oh God.

“Are you okay?”

Erin glanced up into Talia’s concerned gaze. “Yes, fine. Sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. I’ll get a cloth.”

Erin looked down, surprised when she saw the damp patch on her dress. Bloody hell, her hand had shaken so much that she’d spilled her drink.

She looked up into the dark, steady gaze of the man who had just arrived. He eyed her with little interest, but her stomach jumped like a train.

“Here.” Talia mopped at Erin’s dress, then turned her glare on the man. “Why did you want to come in here and scare my guest, Nathan Quinn?”

“Didn’t know anyone else was here. Thought you females had left for the evening.”

“This is Erin,” Naomi said. “She’s just moved to the area.”

Another pointed exchange of looks, but Erin knew she was reading too much into everything right then. They must all think she was a bloody loony.

The man called Nathan turned his gaze to her and inclined his head.

She tried for a smile but wasn’t sure she made it. Her whole body was reacting as if to a threat, and she feared she was about to go into full panic mode.

“Well, let’s get this show on the road,” Naomi declared and stood. “I can hear the others arriving, which means we’ve got that serious partying to do. And you guys have some serious poker to play.”

She took Erin’s glass and handed it to Tynan, then kissed him full on the mouth. “That should keep you for a while. Enjoy your game.”

In response, Tynan put the glass down and hauled Naomi up against him. “That won’t keep me for five damn minutes. Come here.”

Erin felt she should turn away when the kiss morphed into the kind that required locked doors and darkened rooms.

“Don’t mind them,” Talia said drawing her into the hall where Caleb held out their coats. She turned to her husband. “You’re really sure you don’t mind driving us? We can get a cab if it’s easier, then you can drive to Truro with Ty and Nathan. That way you’ll get to enjoy a drink.”

“I said I’d take you. I don’t want you out of my sight any longer than necessary.”

The big man smiled down at her, his eyes gleaming. Talia rewarded him with a soft kiss, her palm resting lightly against his cheek.

While Caleb didn’t haul Talia against him to give her the same treatment Tynan was currently giving Naomi, Erin felt equally uncomfortable. The possessive look Caleb gave his wife made her feel like she should turn away from something intensely private and intimate.
Naomi came into the hall, flushed and pleased with herself. “Ready?”

Moments later, after brief introductions to the two women who had arrived, they were piling into Caleb’s SUV. From the backseat, Erin found herself glancing back to the house, hoping against hope she didn’t catch sight of Nathan again.

The man made her feel uneasy and anxious. They’d barely shared a glance, but he’d looked at her like he knew something nobody else did. She shuddered at the thought, remembering Naomi had told her that Tynan was his business partner, and they were security consultants. That meant he would know how to access official files, documents, people’s history.

At Naomi’s instruction beside her, Erin clipped on her seat belt and vowed to keep a very low profile where Nathan Quinn was concerned.
