Bearly Theirs by Maia Dylan- Two Males Plan To Steal Her Heart #MFM #Shifters #Erotic #Romance #Contemporary #Menage

Blurb:

Keiko Saito is having the worst day of her life — but it also happens to be the best. The same day she learns of her brother’s death and her need to return to Japan, she discovers that the feelings she has harbored for two men for almost two years are returned.

Logan and Cooper Anderson have known that Keiko was their mate from the first moment they met.  They hired her for their business and planned to steal her heart at the same time.  Their idea to take it slow is shot to hell when she learns of her brother’s death.  They are together for one night, one perfect night when they allow their feelings for each other to dictate their actions. When they awake the next morning, their mate is gone.

Can Cooper and Logan find their mate in time to save her from the future she fears, or will they lose her before she can ever truly be theirs?

**erotic romance, ménage a trois, paranormal, shape-shifter, anal sex, double penetration**

STORY EXCERPT:

“You bellowed?” Keiko inquired dryly. Both men’s facial expressions changed in the same instant.

Logan’s face slipped into its usual scowl and Cooper grinned at her. Both men started to talk at once, asking questions until Keiko lifted her hand and whistled loud and shrill. This was a skill she had perfected since coming to work at ACE and it came in handy when both men required her help.

“As developed as my ability to multi-task is, and to be fair it is definitely higher than most and that is why you headhunted me for this job in the first place and pay me what you do, I have yet to master the ability to conduct two conversations at the same time.”

“Sorry, Kei,” Cooper said with a grin that told her he was anything but.

She shook her head and cast a slight look to the heavens for patience. “Now, Logan the Jenkins file still holds the status of pending, so it will be on the shared drive.”

She held her hand up to stop him when it looked like he was about to interrupt. “Until that contract has been verified and the retainer has cleared, it will stay pending. Look in the commercial builds folder on that drive and there is a folder titled Jenkins.”

Logan clicked his mouse a couple of times and then gave her the quick thumbs-up that he had what he needed.

“Cooper, there is nothing wrong with the spreadsheet I sent you. Have you changed anything in the master data and not transposed the same formula?”

Cooper got a sheepish look on his face as he tapped away on his keyboard for a moment. When he looked up from his screen, his grin was firmly in place again. “Yep, that is exactly what I did. Again. Sorry, Kei. What would we do without you?”

He was the only person in the world that shortened her name, and she secretly loved it.

She nodded her head in response, then turned to look between the two men. “Will there be anything else tonight, gentlemen?”

“No, thanks, Keiko,” Logan said with a small smile and her heart stuttered at the intense look he suddenly got in his eyes. For some reason, it made her think of the way a predator would observe its prey. His look said he wanted to devour her, and she was only too willing to be devoured.

She swallowed audibly and felt a gush of heat between her legs.

Giving them a wide, and hopefully not too fake a smile, Keiko nodded. “Great! Then have a good night and I will see you both in the morning.”

Spinning on her three-inch heel, Keiko strode from the office pausing only long enough to grab her jacket and purse, then left. She took the elevator down from the top floor, buzzing her way out the door and into the muggy air of a Texas spring evening.

She told herself as she walked the three blocks to her bus stop that there was no way that Logan or Cooper could tell that she had basically drenched her own panties in front of them. She would simply lie down and die of mortification if they ever knew how easily they turned her on. By the time she had reached the bus stop, and her phone started ringing, she had convinced herself that her secret was safe and that they had no clue.

* * * *

“Jesus Christ,” Logan groaned as their office manager scampered from their office and out to the elevators so fast she basically left skid marks on the carpet. “Did you smell that?”

Logan turned to his brother and from the mask of barely controlled need etched on his face, it was clear that Cooper had caught it as well.

Cooper closed his eyes and inhaled deeply again. “You’re damn fucking skippy I smelled that. Keiko saw something in the look you gave her that she definitely liked. Her breathing rate increased, I could see the pulse at the base of her neck start beating wildly, and the sweet, sweet musk of her arousal fucking filled this office.”

Eyes opening, he turned to look at Logan, and Logan could see his eyes flickering green to black, which spoke of how close he was to losing control to his bear. “Our mate is needy and not going to her and fulfilling that need is fucking killing my bear.”

Logan nodded. He understood exactly what Cooper was saying. Hell, his own bear was pacing impatiently within him, roaring his desire to chase their mate and claim her as theirs, but they had to show some restraint and control. There were issues they had to sort through before they claimed their mate, not least of which was explaining the fact to her that they had the ability to shift into half-ton bears with nothing more than a thought, and were members of the Greenspoint bear sloth. That tended to be one hell of a precursor to telling someone she was destined to be the love of their lives

ADULT EXCERPT

“The first day you stepped into our office, you wore this pale blue blouse with mother-of-pearl buttons.” As he spoke, Cooper reached out and gently began to slide the buttons of the white silk blouse she wore now through the buttonholes.

“I wanted nothing more than to remove that shirt, button by button and expose the beautiful expanse of skin I knew hid beneath it.” He matched his words with his actions, gently opening the blouse, pulling it gently from the waistband of the skirt she wore.

The breath caught in Cooper’s throat at the sight of the white demi bra that she wore that pushed her breasts up, plumping them slightly at the top. “Holy…shit.”

Unable to resist, Logan leaned in and looked over her shoulder, getting the full effect of the fantastic things this particular bra did for her breasts.

“Sweet mother of God,” Logan murmured as he reached up to slip the blouse from her shoulders. “If I knew you had a penchant for wearing sexy as all fuck underwear like this under those suits of yours, we would have been here a hell of a lot sooner.”

Cooper took a deep breath to try to curb the desire building within him at an astonishing rate. “You were wearing a dark blue pencil skirt with that blouse, and I loved the way it clung to every sweet curve.”

Cooper dropped to his knees in front of her, and the sweet scent of her arousal filled the air. The waistband of her skirt loosened and Cooper knew that Logan had released the button and zip at the back.

“Now, normally, I’m the kind of guy that rips the wrapping paper off my presents and prefers to dive straight into dessert. But in this case, I’m willing to wait a few seconds more than I want to, because I have the feeling that bra you’re wearing might be part of a set, designed to drive a man insane.”

Gently, he gripped the edge of her skirt and slid it over the luscious curve of her hips, and then let it drop to the floor, leaving her standing in just her underwear, and Cooper growled at the barely there panties their woman was wearing. He looked up at the goddess who stood before him and nearly swallowed his tongue.

Gently he ran his hands up the backs of her legs. He groaned when he got to the naked globes of her ass. “You wear G-strings? Logan’s right, if we knew about these we would have been here a hell of a lot faster.”

Unable to wait another minute, he gently stripped the small scrap of lace from her beautifully bare pussy and then tugged her hips toward him.

“Lean back, love. Rest your shoulders on Logan’s chest.”

He watched as she complied, noticing that Logan had stripped the bra from her, and removed his own shirt. His hands cupped her breasts, his thumbs strumming her dark nipples, and a rosy red shade of arousal had swept across Keiko’s chest and up her neck.

“I’m gonna taste you now, love.”

Cooper gently lifted her left leg to place it on his shoulder, trusting his brother to hold her strong all the while looking up into her lust-glazed eyes and grinned.

“Feel free to scream for me.”

Then he placed his mouth right over her very wet pussy, listening to her sweet cry of shocked pleasure, and swept his tongue through the hot liquid that had pooled there, pulling it into his mouth. Her flavor was sweet and salty and so fucking addictive he knew she was going to quickly become his favorite meal. Then he settled in to drive her crazy. He took the sounds she made as verbal clues, telling him what she liked and how she liked to be pleasured.

When he swept the flat of his tongue up and over her swollen clit, she thrust her hips forward with a cry. When he gently slid his finger up inside her hot, tight pussy, she shuddered and gripped his hair, which he liked a lot, but it was when he combined the two together that had her screaming his name as she shattered against his tongue. Growling softly, he lapped up every drop of cream her body rewarded him with, loving her through the first orgasm of many he was determined to give her tonight.

As he pulled back he felt the last sliver of his heart, the part he held back in case all their plans went to hell, slide away and join the rest, completely and utterly with her.

Five questions for the author

Q: Every book is special to an author.  What is it about this book that makes it special for you?

A: Every book is special, and I love all that I have written and the ones I have yet to write!  But this one is special because it brings in a little Japanese element that means a lot to me.  I lived in Japan for three years and it is a language and culture that is near and dear to me.

Q:  Sometimes things happen when you are writing a series that wasn’t expected at all.  Have you had this happen to you?

A:  Heaps!  I am not a planner.  I am a write-by-the-set-of-your-panties kinda girl.  There have been moments where I will finish up a scene and be like WTF?  I did not see that coming!

Q.  Is that why you always include a danger element to your books?

A.  I write what I love to read.  I love books that take you on a journey, but where the characters face a challenge that adds an element of urgency to them and to the book.  As a reader, there is nothing I like more than getting that goose bump, hair rising on the back of my neck feeling as I join the characters within the book I am reading on the journey to solve their mystery.  I want to give that to my readers.

Q.  What are you working on at the moment?

A.  I have quite a few WIPS on the go at any one time.  Right now I am working on book 9 ni my Grey River series, book three in my Sniper Team Bravo series, a collaboration work I have on the go with Sarah Marsh and Elena Kincaid and a couple of stand alones that had caught my muse’s interest.

Q.  Do you have anything to say to your current readers or to those that haven’t yet read you work?

A.  If you have read any of my books, thank you so very much!  It blows my mind that someone has actually read something that I wrote, but gosh I hope you enjoyed it!  Did you?  Please let me know, I find I suffer from a slight case of needy-nelly with my writing.  If you haven’t read my book, but you love erotic romance stories between strong men and an independent woman, where the path to their happily ever after can be a bumpy one, but there is always a happily ever after, and their love and laugher is real on every page, then you’ll find my books right up your alley!

A Siren Erotic Romance

STORY EXCERPT

As horse, Grant Thunderhead galloped over the magnificent harsh terrain of the Four Corners. His territory, as he thought of it, having lived on his small ranch spread for nine years now.

This land of majestic rock sculptures, or hoodoos, held ancient secrets. Grant sensed them beneath his flying hooves. Over the years, he’d gradually explored, looking for those secrets, and found an unbelievable, fantastical cache of steam-powered machines.

Grant raced faster, surging with joy, with strength. All while the distinctive smell of creosote bush, and the other sparse vegetation teased his flaring nostrils.

The Earth sang to him. His every drumming hoof beat honored her, the planet-being, Gaia. Or Sophia, as some called her.

To run without boundaries, to feel the hot desert air blast over his stallion hide, Grant savored his freedom. He was also on a mission for his Native American friends as a rainmaker.

Comanche blood ran through his veins, through his paternal grandmother. Feeling a kinship with the Four Corner tribes, Grant had focused on developing a good relationship with his immediate neighbors—whatever their tribal blood connections. Eventually, one circle of elders approached him to say they knew he was a direct descendent of the Skyhorse People, or those who could shapeshift to a horse.

With his secret out, and the elder’s promise of silence, Grant often used his ability to shift, and other supernatural powers he possessed, to help the elders when needed. Yesterday, he’d participated in a drum ceremony to bring much-needed rains.

Like the sacred drumming, the sound frequency of his hooves pounding on the sun-washed land, if done with the correct rhythm for a long enough time, would encourage clouds to form, then become swollen with rain.

Reaching a long flat stretch of ground, Grant mentally chanted along with the steady beat of his hooves, Let the thirsty land drink, Benevolent One. Once he’d galloped the full distance, Grant slowed his pace. The vibrational message had been sent to the Sky Father, or what he thought of as the sacred matrix.

To give his sweat-stained body a chance to cool down, Grant leaped onto a narrow arroyo, and loped slowly, following the dry riverbed toward an area he wanted to explore further.

With the Earth singing to him, and the great towers of stone ringing, creating a high spiritual field, Grant had ignored the undercurrent of malevolence he’d sensed of late. No more.

Something strange, even dark, twisted the land’s vibrations. In his stallion form, Grant was even more sensitive to supernatural forces.

Could this be a foreshadowing?

A wicked chill slid the length of his horse spine causing his tail to move back and forth in quick jerks. To confront this disturbance in the force now, or not?

To run in the face of the wind, or run from the evil source of the winds? For now.

Grant listened to the thunderous sound of his heart, as he did often to tune into the wisdom within for answers. When the answer eluded him, he silently asked questions.

Was this a sacred forewarning for him on a personal level, or perhaps for the tribal peoples he’d befriended, who were constantly under assault by the corrupt powers that be?

Or, was there some catastrophic world event about to not only alter his life, but drastically change the life of everyone?

Grant tossed his head, hardly breaking stride. No damn doubt, the dark age was upon them. Instead of the paradise world he’d envisioned since his youth, the evil side of the supernatural had gained a serpent’s stranglehold on society.

From his highly experienced viewpoint.

Fury welled up inside Grant. He’d spiritually disciplined himself and spent his lifetime working to bring about a better life for All who lived upon Gaia. Now enraged, he bucked several times, high twists in the air.

Once his hooves solidly struck the ground, Grant dug in, catapulting himself over the barren cracked riverbed. Baring his teeth, he charged toward an unseen enemy. A startled rattlesnake uncoiled, striking in his direction.

Grant nimbly swerved, then sent calming vibes to the out-of-sorts reptile. Moments later, awareness sparked inside him, and he skidded to a halt, psi-sensing the breach of his storage cave. Had someone discovered his steam-powered ships and devices?

Before his mind’s eye, Grant witnessed the effects of the cavern’s advanced-tech force field, but not who it was that had been thrown into the cactus-gnarly arms of the desert. In seconds, he intuitively knew the intrusion had not been by an enemy.

Still, he spun around on his back hooves, jumping into a fast gallop. Near the area, Grant soon halted at the edge, where the high desert began. Boulders littered the ground surrounding the titan hoodoo that shielded his cavern’s entrance.

Blowing his nostrils to gather in scents, Grant picked his way over the rough terrain, and wove between the larger rocks. The sound of his heart suddenly matched another’s, astonishing him. A rare occurrence, it meant this meeting had been orchestrated by the Higher Ups, as he thought of his divine guides.

Grant easily followed the heart connection, concerned because the beat was too slow, with an unhealthy flutter. As he approached, quickening his pace, the smell of death clung to the small-framed man who lay sprawled on his back near one of the huge rocks.

ADULT EXCERPT

The vision of the tented blanket refused to leave his mind’s eye. In a battle with his emotions, Grant filled the pitcher. He added colloidal silver for good measure since the natural substance would help Ghost Walker’s immune system.

Intent on controlling himself, and making his recuperating guest as comfortable as possible, he padded back to the spare room. Grant didn’t deny it. Something about Ghost Walker called to him, a pull that was almost painful, as if his middle had been lassoed, the loop tightening.

Grant shook his head, and felt his inner horse mane shake. Life liked throwing curve balls at him, ones that often aimed for his head, and dammit, right between the eyes at times. Although, he reminded himself, he couldn’t rightly complain overall.

Yeah, miracles showed up on his doorstep. He believed due to his consistent spiritual practice, his natural love for humankind—for all life on the Great Mother planet, Earth.

Pausing before he entered, Grant grabbed a large breath to relieve the tension inside his gut, and his bunched muscles. So much about his guest was miraculous, including the fact that he’d found the hidden, steam engine cave.

Hell, he’d lived long enough to know a higher plan was at work. As he walked toward Ghost Walker, Grant curved his mouth into a friendly smile.

Again, he couldn’t miss the pole-tall thrust of the man’s cock beneath the blanket. Concerned, Grant set the pitcher down, and scrutinized Ghost Walker’s face for signs of a problem, beyond the man’s attraction to him.

Coffee eyes, misted by drowsiness, met his gaze—soft wise eyes Grant decided he could sink into forever. Ghost Walker blinked slowly, and Grant witnessed his extreme fatigue.

For the life of him he couldn’t look away—leave Ghost Walker to his rest. Words formed on Grant’s lips but he couldn’t speak, caught in what suddenly felt like a time warp.

Yep, he’d experienced strange shifts in time when he’d participated in medicine ceremonies. The elders had told him the practice originated close to ten thousand years ago.

Ghost Walker started to speak, hesitated, then closed his mouth. Grant watched the flicker of emotions—desire, shame, hope, confusion—all while their gazes stayed glued on each other.

Not locked, Grant thought, but connected as if strands formed between them—invisible delicate threads that were stronger than steel.

Grant knew before he acted. Even so, his hand moved without volition. He uncovered Ghost Walker, wrapping his hand around the man’s arrow-like, brown cock.

Heat, a beautiful heat seeped inside his palm. The shape of Ghost Walker’s erection burned a brand in a part of Grant he hadn’t known existed.

All he knew, the sensation was like holding erotic art in his hand. Grant slowly, gently pumped his hand up and down.

The silky skin of Ghost’s shaft felt like the most wonderful caress, and he gripped a bit tighter. Rhythmically, Grant swiveled his hand along the length of Ghost’s dick, using the droplets from his slit as lubricant.

As silence embraced them both, Grant fastened his gaze on Ghost Walker’s eyes—wide, disbelieving at first. A surrender to pleasure quickly glittered the man’s dark eyes.

Grant couldn’t help but notice how he reveled being in command, how he enjoyed relieving Ghost Walker’s need. He watched Ghost’s eyes brighten with more and more ecstasy.

When his eyes closed, Grant paused, softly stroking his thumbpad over Ghost’s swollen cockhead—so damn satiny, and now wet with his leaking pre-cum.

His extreme pleasure obvious, Ghost’s hips jerked involuntarily. Grant rubbed his palm over his crown in a tender swirling motion, and Ghost opened his eyes as if he couldn’t quite believe the ecstatic sensations.

Feeling like a dominant stud, Grant watched as Ghost’s eyes glazed over, darkened, then glinted with the start of his orgasm. He gripped the man’s throbbing hot cock, and slid his hand up and down more rapidly than before.

With each stroke upward, Grant slightly squeezed the base of Ghost’s shaft.

Magic is Becca Salt’s business, but it ain’t happening in her bedroom. The half-witch proprietress of From Crud to Stud performs miracle makeovers for paranormal creatures. Once she’s done with them, they’re out the door hunting for hot babes, not hanging around for a too-curvy, plain Jane like her.

Her newest client is hot, hung, mouthwatering perfection. What could she possibly improve upon?

And he intends to take Becca here, there, and everywhere—anything to convince her his desire isn’t just the potions talking.

Product Warnings

A witch doctor’s nightmare. Contains potions with weird side effects, a sorceress with limited magical skills and a yearning heart, plus a minor god who wants to get down and dirty. Bad, bad boy!

Excerpt:

Heat and humidity poured inside, along with the racket from the street party. Drunken voices mingled with throaty laughter, pounding drums and trumpets reaching then holding their highest notes. Becca’s pulse thumped in her ears, drowning out the other sounds.

Damn.

The guy who’d come inside was something. At least six-three, he had the build of an athlete, lean and muscular with broad shoulders, narrow hips and powerful thighs. Without meaning to, Becca stepped closer, drinking him in. Classically handsome, he wore his hair preppy style, longer on the top, shorter on the sides. It was a warm chestnut brown streaked by the sun and slightly tousled, begging for a woman’s fingers to smooth it back.

Becca brought down her hand, suddenly realizing she’d lifted it.

His golden complexion spoke of days spent outdoors, possibly skinny-dipping in a pool, water streaming over his firm pecs and abs, being trapped in his nest of dark curls…his rock-hard cock jutting from it, inflexible as iron, sleek as a spear. Suppressing a shiver of delight, Becca took in his leather loafers, beige khakis and white shirt opened at the collar with the sleeves rolled up to mid-forearm.

Masculine yet civilized. Very nice.

Zoe, you did good. Aw, sweetie, more than good. She deserved part ownership in this place for having done such a fantastic job on him. This guy had been made over to the nth degree from…
Becca wasn’t certain what kind of demon he was, or his level in Hell, never having met him before the makeover. Maybe that’s why he’d taken so long to get here. He couldn’t pull himself away from the god he now saw in his mirror.

While Becca ogled him, he regarded the reception area’s feathery ferns and potted plants as though seeing them with different eyes. A mortal’s eyes. The room’s faux brick floor, coral walls and gas wall fixtures radiated warmth, an earthy, sensual feel in keeping with the area’s culture.

It was also decidedly romantic.

And the reason most of these guys signed up. They were having problems with babes and wanted a solution, even if it was painful.

Hissing noises came from behind a door on the right. On the left, a muffled groan sounded faintly sexual.

Could be that was why this guy was late. He’d already seduced a babe and had been reluctant to leave her.

Becca glanced at his fly, the thick ridge behind it. Some women had all the luck. She, on the other hand, had a business to run.

Reining in her desire, she joined him in the reception area. “Do you have any idea how late it is?”
He turned. His attention zipped from her flame-red hair, cut in a chin-length bob with bangs, to her dramatic makeup. Heavy black liner surrounded her blue eyes. Her maroon lipstick was just a shade lighter than black and quite a contrast to her pale skin.

He lifted his eyebrows slightly, then regarded the black silk top tied beneath her breasts, her silver navel jewelry, black harem pants, anklets, toe rings and high-heeled sandals.

Even at five-seven, and with the extra three inches the shoes gave her, Becca felt positively dainty next to him. Quite a feat considering she’d always been too tall and curvy. In school, they’d called her the f-word.

Well, fuck ’em, right? So she’d never be skinny or a beauty. Not like her mom. Unfortunately, Becca took after her dad. A great guy, but no hunk in the looks department.

“We can’t wait forever,” she said. “Let’s go.”

She headed down the hall. Hearing only her footfalls, Becca stopped and looked over.
He hadn’t taken one step in her direction. He was far too busy studying her ass. Intently. Appreciatively…if his crooked smile was any indication. How awesome was that?

Was it something Zoe had taught him?

“You coming?” Becca asked.

He actually blushed beneath his tan. What appeared to be carnal hunger blurred his expression as he regarded her. “Where?”

His voice was even deeper than the howlers that came here for treatment. Way huskier than Zoe’s when she got riled. Becca moved toward him again, drawn by his potent masculinity, until she forced herself to stop and pointed over her shoulder.

He approached with the grace of a well-behaved panther. Loose limbed and composed, not cocky or predatory. Shit. Zoe was a miracle worker.

“Sure,” he said.

Becca swallowed. His eyes were the color of honey with flecks of green. Given his laugh lines, he looked to be in his early thirties—if she was using mortal time—just a couple of years older than her.
Not that their ages mattered. Why should they? Once his photo shoot was over, he’d be gone. Back in bed with his babe.

“There.” She pointed to the side, trying not to drool over him.

He kept checking her out too and gave her another crooked grin. “There what?”
Damned if she knew. His adorable smile continued to tangle her thoughts. Becca lowered her head and took a deep breath. “Door on the right. Go in that room. Take off your clothes. I’ll get the photog—”

The rest of her words and all the spit in her mouth dried up as his fingers curled around her wrist, keeping her from moving away.

He murmured, “What?”

That voice. His touch. Her knees sagged. With great effort, Becca turned back to him.

He gave her a questioning look and waited.

Becca wanted to ruffle his long, dark lashes, kiss his silky eyebrows, then suck his lower lip into her mouth while she crawled all over him. “Briefs or boxers?”

He pulled back slightly, but didn’t let go of her wrist. “What?”

She cleared her throat. Her voice still jiggled and rasped. “What are you wearing? Briefs or boxers?”

He looked down as though to check. “Boxers.”

“The stretchy kind or the baggy ones?”

He let go of her wrist. “They’re not that baggy.”

Hmm. She’d hurt his feelings. A nice human touch Zoe must have taught him. Like having him stare at a female’s ass, rather than simply grabbing it, to make her feel sexy and desired. “I’m sure they’re not. Still, we prefer the snug ones.”

The kind that would hug his fleshy balls and caress his rigid cock. On wobbly legs, Becca went to the hall closet and pulled out a navy pair.

“Here.” She flung them at him.

They landed on his deliciously broad shoulder.

Becca backed away. “Strip down, then put those on. We can’t screw around any longer.”

“Sure about that?”

About Me (You know you want to know!):

I’m an award-winning, bestselling novelist in erotic, paranormal, contemporary and historical romance for Samhain Publishing, Ellora’s Cave, Siren Publishing, Booktrope, and Kensington. Yay! Booklist, Publisher’s Weekly, Romantic Times and numerous online sites have praised my work, and trust me, I’m forever grateful for that.

I’ve had my books reach finals in the EPIC competition, one title was named Book of the Year at a review site, and others have won awards in RWA-sponsored contests. I’m actually featured in the 2012 Novel & Short Story Writer’s Market. Talk about feeling like a freaking star.

Before my writing career, I was the editor of an award–winning Midwestern newspaper and worked in Story Direction for a Hollywood production company. Outside of being an admitted and unrepentant chocoholic, I’ve flown a single-engine plane (scary stuff), rewired an old house using an electricity for dummies book, and have been known to moan like Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally whenever I’m eating anything Mexican or Italian.

Yeah, I like to eat (burp).

You can check me out here – yes, I am everywhere!

As Midnight Loves The Moon; A Vampire Romance by Beth D. Carter.

Blurb

Wayde Wallace is a vampire.  He’s been alone for a long time, until he smells the sunshine scent of a woman and finds Daphne Sabella.  Her blood smells intoxicating until he catches the stench of sickness upon her and realizes Daphne is dying.

Alexander Malden is a Shade cop sent to patrol the supernaturals who live among humans.  A rogue vampire is killing women and he thinks Wayde is the monster because only a trickster can make him feel such lust and longing.

To prove his innocence, Wayde goes out to find the real rogue vampire and Alex can’t help but follow because the mating bond has already settled between them.  And when they believe they can finally help Daphne, she becomes the next victim.  Now they must rescue her and turn her before she succumbs to death.

Excerpt:

Wayde looked behind Alex and noticed their conversation had gathered a few watchers. His gaze flickered back up to the handsome cop. “I suggest you sit down,” he said softly. “We’re attracting human notice.”

Alex glanced over his shoulder, probably to double check he told the truth, and slid into the booth, staring at him and carefully keeping out of his reach. “You think by distracting me in a bar, I won’t kill you?”

“You’re so bloodthirsty. Again, I ask you, why do you want to kill me? I’m not your rogue vampire.”

Alex’s eyebrows skyrocketed. “Right.”

“I’m not,” he stressed. “I’m a bookstore owner. I deal in extremely rare books, usually pre-Gutenberg printing press, although I never turn down a book in excellent condition from around 1040 to the mid-1800’s. Beer?”

“No,” Alex answered with a low growl. “Listen, you tried to kill me yesterday—”

“You attacked me,” Wayde interrupted. He pushed his beer aside and kept his eyes steady on the warrior in front of him. “And if I wanted you dead, you’d be dead. As you learned last night, I am able to hold my own.”

“I’ve come better prepared.” Alex opened his jacket a little more to show his gun.

“Ah. Your master plan is to take me out back and shoot me?”

“Of course. Your suggestion, remember?”

“Of all the things I said last night, that’s what stood out?” Wayde chuckled. “Listen, I have your sword at my shop. You can stop by anytime to pick it up.”

“I don’t actually plan for you to be alive for much longer.”

“Then I beg to differ,” he replied. “Have you ever killed a vampire before?”

He saw the answer before Alex muttered “no.”

He shifted forward in his seat, leaning toward Alex, who stiffened at the gesture. Then he focused on Alex, blocking out everything around them. The noise, the smell, the crackle of vinyl seats all faded as he called forth his hunger. It rose sharply, like it always did, waiting eagerly to be sated. It was heat and power and magic, all rolled together, bursting forth like an invisible web. And as soon as he captured Alex’s eyes with his own, he knew he had the man.

“I want you,” he murmured, weaving his spell. He knew that his voice took on a husky timber, that his eyes blazed with blue fire, and that his pheromones heated up. “Do you want me too, Alex?”

The Lady In White by Catherine Chernow

Blurb

Serena Reilly has come to 'Bride's Inn' to care for it's owner, elderly Clarise Masters. One dark and stormy night, a darkly handsome, mysterious visitor arrives at the old inn, scaring....and kissing Serena senseless. But the handsome rogue, a man who Serena comes to know as her dark prince, a man who stirs Serena's deepest, most erotic desires, isn't all that he seems...and neither is she.

As Seth and Serena's mutual attraction grows, so does the mystery surrounding Bride's Inn, and the strange apparition that haunts its legendary halls. Serena and Seth stand to lose far more than their hearts when the 'Lady in White' shows up. When Serena's life is threatened, it's up to Seth to save his fiery-haired goddess.

Excerpt

"Sereeeeeeeenaaaaa..."

Serena Reilly rose from her bed, her eyes heavy with sleep.

“I’m coming!”

Outside her bedroom window a spring storm raged, battering Long Island’s rocky north shore. A flash of lightening lit up the night sky as the rain fell in sheets, pounding against the windowpanes, the howl of the wind echoing a mournful cry in the pitch-black night.

"Sereeeeeeeenaaaaa..."

The eerie voice echoed a sad wail like the low howl of the wind whipping through the trees outside. Serena shoved her arms into the sleeves of her robe, shuddering against the cold, damp night air. She rushed out of her bedroom, anxious to get to her elderly charge, Clarice Masters. As she ran down the hallway towards Clarice’s room, she heard the heartrending cry once more.

"Sereeeeeeeenaaaaa..."

Her heart pounded as she rushed down the long corridor, stopping in front of Clarice’s room. She opened the door and stepped inside, the absolute stillness of Clarice’s darkened bedroom greeting her. Serena padded towards the bed to find her charge sound asleep.

She eased into a nearby chair, her body trembling. Night after night, she heard that eerie voice calling to her. It sounded like a woman…a sad, lonely woman.

Serena shrank back in the chair, her fingers tightening on the arms when she heard a deep rumbling and a crack of thunder that shook the entire house. She covered her ears to block the sound of a loud crash, squinting when bright, blinding light illuminated the sky and a jagged stroke of lightening struck the ancient oak tree right outside Clarice’s bedroom window. It split the branch from the tree trunk in one stroke, the tips of the branches grazing the windowpane as it fell to the ground, the sound like fingernails scraping against a chalkboard.

Serena trembled, every nerve ending in her body vibrating as she watched the scene unfold through terror-filled eyes. She huddled in the chair, pulling her shaking legs up onto the seat, wrapping her arms around her knees to stop their knocking.

“My nephew used to climb that tree when he was little.”

Serena jumped at the sound of Clarice’s voice. The older woman sat up in bed, her eyes settling on the rain as it ran down the windowpane.

“Are you all right?” Serena asked, struggling to keep her voice steady. She reached over and fluffed the pillow behind Clarice's snow-white curls. Sitting on the edge of the bed, Serena gently took the older woman’s hands in her own. She rubbed them, warming the thin skin.

Clarice angled her head, her large blue eyes intense. “I’m fine, dear. Why do you ask?”

“I thought I heard…never mind.” Serena chose to not say anything about the mysterious voice she heard in the dead of night. It would only frighten Clarice. “Well, since I’m up, can I get you anything?” Serena asked.

Clarice smiled, the corners of her mouth lifting in a wide grin. “A glass of warm milk would be nice.” Then she yawned, ruining the effect.

Serena hid a grimace and wondered, not for the first time, how Clarice could drink that concoction she loved of warm milk and…butter. Yuck.

She forced a cheerful smile. “Coming right up.”

She padded down the main staircase and entered the kitchen, flipping on the light switch. As she walked towards the refrigerator to retrieve a bottle of milk, the hairs on the back of her neck rose. A cold breeze wafted by, swirling around her ankles, lightly brushing her shoulder. She turned, fully expecting to see someone watching her from the shadows.
No one was there.

"I've got to a get a grip," she muttered. After blowing out a shaky breath, she warmed some milk in a pan on the stove and when she finished, topped it off with a piece of butter. The butter floated on the top, forming a nasty yellow film. Screwing up her face, she stirred the butter into the milk, all the while muttering, “Yuck, yuck, yuck….”

Serena filled a glass almost to the brim with the warm milk and butter. She jumped when thunder boomed in the distance, startling her once more. She set the milk on the tray, willing her hands to remain steady.

She left the kitchen and made her way towards the wide staircase in the center hall, steadily balancing the tray as she began her ascent up the long staircase. Confident that she had re-gained her calm, she glanced up, freezing in mid-stride as her gaze fell upon a woman who stood at the top of the stairs.

A thin, white veil shrouded her face and she wore a long, white gown studded with beads and flowers. Serena blinked as she gazed at the woman, the dress appearing…ancient. As the woman neared, Serena could see that some of the exquisite beadwork and tiny, white flowers had yellowed with age.

“Who are you?” Serena whispered, her voice trembling with fear.

No answer.

The woman continued her steady descent and Serena backed up, alarm filling her with every step the mysterious woman took. She appeared to float down the stairs, her slippered feet barely skimming each tread.

Serena fought a rising tide of panic. Who was this woman? What if she was here to hurt Clarice? She would never forgive herself if something happened to her elderly charge. Mustering her courage, she took a deep breath and willed her feet to move, her hands shaking as she gripped the tray, determined to toss its contents at the stranger if she dared try to harm her.

The woman did not appear to notice Serena as she drew near, clutching a bouquet of white roses in her hands, her gaze focused beyond Serena. She lifted her arm then, and pointed at the front door. Serena glanced back at the entrance, peering through the glass pane on the door.

A shadow moved outside.

Frantic, she turned back towards the stairs but the strange woman had vanished. She blinked, thinking she was losing her mind. First, the fierce storm had her jumping out of her skin, and now it seemed that her fuzzy mind played tricks on her.

The doorknob rattled, followed by fierce pounding. A face pressed against the glass, the nose and lips grotesquely distorted, a dark monster staring through the small pane of glass.

She dropped the tray, the tumbler containing Clarice’s treat shattering into a thousand shards as milked spilled everywhere, seeping across the polished wood floor.

A Beautifully Witchy Holiday Romance- Frosty Relations by Tara Quan

Blurb

Attorney Jack Frost never understood why holidays did weird things to people. His secretary went on vacation, his best friend ditched their annual Aspen trip, and the law firm’s stubborn human resources assistant refuses his clerical support request. What’s a warlock to do on Christmas Eve but go on a 1-Night Stand? But when an oddly familiar empath shows up as his date, this ice mage has a hard time denying the magic of the winter solstice.

Faced with an anemic employment market and financial woes, college graduate and former witch Mina Mao lands an HR assistant job at Frost and Sons. Having spent her day saving Christmas from Frost Junior’s Grinch-like behavior, she accepts the gift of Madame Eve’s service and heads over to the Castillo Capital. When her date turns out to be her childhood crush and workplace nemesis, she braces herself for the sexiest icy ride of her life.

Excerpt

“So the guy seriously had a boner? That’s so messed up.”

Mina rolled her eyes at their joint reflection. “I know, right? And since I’m an empath, I could sense him getting, you know, all hot and bothered. Whoever he was fantasizing about, she turned him on big time. I don’t know how he could think about sex when he’s on the verge of exploding from too much unused magic.”

Sweets snorted. “Men—warlocks or human—they care about one thing.” She picked up a handful of Mina’s hair. “Ready?”

Mina swallowed. “Are you sure you know what you’re doing?”

Using the scissors, Sweets pointed at the set of combs and razors peeking out from a battered leather sleeve. “Can’t you feel the mojo rolling off my grandmother’s enchanted tools? These babies are idiot proof.”

Since not even her cousin could squeeze her in after 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Mina’s options had been limited enough to make her take a gamble. “But you have done this before?”

Patting her shoulder, Sweets bent at the waist and squinted one eye. “I cut Shelley’s hair all the time. She hates leaving the house, remember? Okay, yours is too long. You need to stand so I don’t get a backache.”

This idea seemed worse by the minute. Rising to her feet, Mina made a pinching motion with her index finger and thumb. “All I need is for you to take off the ends—nothing fancy.”

Her friend’s mock salute didn't bolster Mina’s confidence. “Your hair is safe with me. Your head is another story.”

Mina closed her eyes. “Very funny. Do it already, will you? The anticipation is killing me.”

She heard a snip, followed by “Oh, wow.”

Her lids snapped up. “What do you mean, ‘Oh, wow’?”

She saw the answer for herself. Scissors and razors slashed around unguided in the air, slicing off huge chunks of her tresses in the process. Her friend stood several steps away, staring at the spectacle as if seeing the phenomenon for the first time. Since moving risked impact with pointy magical objects, Mina glared at the culprit’s reflection in the mirror. “I thought you said you’d done this before.”

Sweets’s expression lacked any hint of guilt. “Okay, I lied. Shelley’s grandmother is the actual owner of these puppies, and she always uses them on herself in the bathroom. Since her hair turns out fine, I figured they’d work on you, too.”

Her hands fisting, Mina hissed, “How do you turn the darn things off?”

Author Bio/Special Note:

~A Letter From Tara Quan~

    Dear Reader,

Thank you for picking up the second book in my paranormal series, A Witch’s Night Out. I've always been a huge fan of witches and their feline friends, and I've had loads of fun creating my own. I keep my stories lighthearted, the angst to a minimum, and the sex just hot enough to make your face grow warm. In all my romances, I aim for a few laughs, a handful of clever twists, and a scorching happily ever after.

After Jack Frost appeared in Flirting with Fire as the hero’s best friend, I couldn't wait to tell his story. This warlock is the quintessential bad boy, whose abrasive personality and command over ice masks a soft spot for his firm’s human resources assistant, cat familiar and empath Mina Mao. To get these two clueless lovers together, Madame Eve works her magic so this modern day prince can sweep his witch off her feet in his white Lamborghini on Christmas Eve.

If I managed to keep a smile on your face for the past few hours, then my goal as a writer is met. I love hearing from readers, so feel free to drop me a line at taraquan@outlook.com. You can find out more about my other books and various social media haunts at www.taraquan.com.
