Her Dom’s Secret Past by Suzy Shearer-Their Passion And His Dominance Is Powerful But His Secret May End Their Love Before It Has A Chance To Really Begin #BDSM #MF #EroticRomance

Blurb

When Anabelle Rowley, fifty-five, takes a two-week break at an exclusive beach-front villa, she meets a man—but not just any man. Instead, this one ticks every box on her imaginary boyfriend list.

For fifty-two-year-old John Ethan, going on a short vacation to recover from injury and moving to Australia comes rather fast. Imagine his surprise when he meets a woman who arouses his every desire.

Their holiday romance ignites fires in them both and this is something real, something long-lasting. But when Anabelle has to leave suddenly, neither has a way of finding the other again.

Will they ever be able to locate each other? And if they do, then John must reveal a secret, a secret that he fears Anabelle will never understand.

NOTE: This is told in 1st person POV from both the Hero and Heroine.

This is an erotic romance. There are explicit sexual descriptions and explicit language used throughout. It may offend some readers.

STORY EXCERPT:

Somehow, I’d managed to keep on my feet when the big wave crashed over Anabelle and me. She surfaced, spluttering, and I held out a hand. She let me help her up and I held her hand a little longer than necessary.

“Thank you, John.”

“You’re welcome. That was one big wave.”

“Sure was, but it’s fun.”

She was still grinning and I couldn’t help myself. I leaned toward her and our lips touched. It was all I’d dreamed of and more. It was electrifying. Our kiss was soft, tender, and a little unsure until I felt her press toward me. I put a hand behind her head and deepened the kiss. Oh yeah, I could get used to this. We finally separated and gazed at each other. Her eyes had dilated slightly and her lips parted as she stared into my eyes.

“I couldn’t resist.”

“I … neither could I, John.”

“I’d certainly like to do it again.”

“Then maybe you should.”

We stood there, the waves crashing around us, as I kissed her again. This time I took my time reveling in the taste of her, mixed with the salty water. Her hands pressed against my chest.

When we stopped, I whispered, “I’ve wanted to kiss you since I first saw you reading.”

“You have?”

I nodded and traced her lips. Her eyes seemed to shut of their own accord as my fingers explored her gorgeous, full mouth. When she opened her eyes, I decided I should kiss her again.  It was wild. The surf pounding against us, the sound of the ocean, and Anabelle in my arms. Another big wave hit us and sent us both under. I grabbed her hand as we fought our way back up to the surface.

“Sadly I have to accept that kissing and big waves don’t mix very well.”

She gave another of her lovely carefree laughs.

“I think you’re right. Come on up to my place and I’ll make you a coffee or tea.”

We waded back to shore. Anabelle picked up her towel and I realized mine was further down the beach.

“I’ll just get my towel and then join you.”

She nodded and continued walking back to her villa while I limped down to where I’d tossed my towel, picked it up, and then followed her into her villa. She’d thrown her towel on one of the outdoor chairs and was in the kitchen. I dropped my towel to join hers after drying off and walked to where she was. She turned to face me at my approach and it was all I could do not to grab her and kiss her again. Her face showed a little nervousness and I smiled.

“Coffee or tea?”

“Still an Englishman, it’s tea for me.”

“Do you want to try the Chinese White?”

“I’m sorry, I only drink black tea.”

She gave a giggle. “So do I. Chinese White is black tea, if that makes sense. It’s only the tiny top buds of the bush. Then after they’re picked they are left to dry naturally without any further processing. It’s a very delicate, smooth, and sweet-tasting tea, I love it.”

“In that case, I’d better try it.”

She nodded and set to making two mugs of tea. I sat down on one of the stools at the bench and studied her. I decided then and there that I’d never tire of watching her. She was so gorgeous. Those luscious curves of hers beckoned me non-stop and I thought I’d been semi-erect since I first saw her. She finished and put a mug in front of me, then another alongside it and came to sit on the stool next to me.

“Thanks.”

“You’re welcome.”

I took a sip of the tea and let it roll around my tongue. The taste surprised me, very light but fruity. Anabelle was right. It was very smooth with no bitter aftertaste that I sometimes got with black tea. She grinned at me and raised her eyebrows.

“It’s lovely. I think I may have to convert.”

“It’s delicious, isn’t it?”

We savored our tea in silence, except for the roar of the waves and the sound of the wind that was getting stronger as it blew through the trees. I wanted to learn all about this lovely woman, but what I actually wanted to do was kiss her again. I noticed her give a shiver.

“Cold?”

“A little.”

I stood and moved behind her, rubbing my hands up and down her arms.

“Maybe you should change into something warmer than this damp suit.”

Her books always feature older heroes and heroines; ranging from mid 40s to 60s. The heroines are usually confident plus-sized women who are proud of their curves. Suzy feels it's important for readers to connect.

When she discovered many romance books seemed to cater for younger readers with their heroines and heroes in the 20s she decided to write about characters who were older but maybe not always wiser.  As she is in her 60s Suzy feels she can relate to her characters desires, fears and hopes and hopes her readers can as well.

Suzy also wants her readers to understand just because people are older doesn't mean they aren't intriguing, desirable, open to challenges and willing to experiment.  Sexy isn't just for the under 30s.

When Suzy is not writing, she is usually painting - an accomplished watercolour Artist her subjects range from portraits and animals to nudes and landscapes.  http://sooziiiart.blogspot.com/

Science fiction, Interracial Multicultural Author Shannon Leigh Discusses her Latest Work "Chasing Booty"

Scribal Love Welcomes Shannon Leigh!

Shannon Leigh is an author of erotic romance. Her newest work Chasing Booty is available from Amber Quill Press.

What is the name of your latest book?  And how did you come up with the title?

Chasing Booty is the title. This story is included in what the publisher calls an AmberPax, which is basically a group of 5 stories all centered around a particular theme. However, each story can be purchased separately as well. This Pax, titled Alien Nation, had to have stories about aliens and humans coming together. I wanted a title with a double meaning. Something catchy and comical.

What is this book about?  And what genre is this book in?

Gaelyn is a bounty hunter on the tail of her latest mark. Her adversary, Reese, a sexy Trøndite from the small planet of Sør-Trøndalag in the Capricornus Sector, has a nasty habit of stealing her contracts. Thinking she’s duped him on Jupiter, she not too happy to find him on Quaoar. Reese not only has the info she needs to catch her prey, he has a business proposal that’s too tempting to pass up.

Genre: Science Fiction / Futuristic / Action / Adventure / Interracial / Multicultural

Who is/are the main characters?  And why did you choose them?

Gaelyn is the main female, and Reese is the main male.

I chose Gaelyn because she was strong-willed, had a quick sarcastic wit, and could hold her own in a futuristic world where humans had to be tough to survive.

Reese is like the proverbial devil in blue jeans, of the male variety. With his red skin, sinfully good looks, and goliath form, he’s the poster-boy for incubus. Put them together and you have a couple that’s likely going to melt your computer screen (or kindle/nook!).

What is the coolest or best part about your book?  (Any Favorite scenes, the world-building etc.)

I like the scene in the bar, where Gaelyn first sees Reese. She so furious she can’t see straight, and her haughty don’t-mess-with-me attitude makes me laugh. I tried really hard to use good descriptions throughout the book so the reader gets a feel for this strange world and it’s equally bizarre inhabitants. I hope I succeeded.

Do you have a favorite character in the book?  If so, why?

It would be Gaelyn. She is the type of girl I think a lot of us would want to be like. You know, the one who’s beautiful but not arrogant, tough but not a bully or punk, and who still manages to have a heart despite the harshness of her world. She may wipe the floor with your behind, but she’ll love you while she does it.

Is this book part of a series?  If so? What can we expect in future books?

Not as of yet, but I will probably write some more stories off this line. I don’t know if it will have the same characters, or maybe introduce some new players in the line up.
In future books, I’d expect a similar story line with bounty hunters and marks, but there’s always got to be a new twist.

If not?  Are you considering expanding it?

Whatever I come up with will likely expand from the original storyline.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book? No. I like it and can honestly say I wouldn’t change a thing.

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I had to research space and solar systems. It was pretty cool and certainly opened my mind to some new ideas.

Do you have a publisher?  And if so, why did you choose them?

Actually, I have 3, but Amber Quill carries most of my titles. I love working with AQ, they’re very easy to talk to, get back with me on things right away, and offer great author services. Trace does an awesome job on the book covers, and my editor is very pleasant to work with.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Probably Anne McCaffrey. Her Dragon Riders of Pern series really had a big impact on me. I haven’t tackled a dragon story as of yet, but I’m getting there.

What books are you reading now?

I just finished Eternal Embrace and am getting ready to start Feral Hunger.

What are the current writing projects that you are working on?

Several. One, The Age of the Vampire, is a joint effort with author Rebecca Suma. I’m also trying to finish up my novel length science fiction romance, Krécelian Mate. I have a sequel to More Than Prophecy, called When Destiny Summons, in the works, and a few others that have grown to several pages. I’m hoping this year I will get to finish what I’ve started, and start some more.

Do you write full time?  If not, do you hope to do so one day?

I wish. Unfortunately, I have to work full-time so I get far less writing time that I want. But where there’s a will there’s a way and so I chug along as best as I can, catching a few minutes or hours late at night or in the evenings when my hubby is occupied and my kids are busy saving the world on the PS3.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I’ve always loved to read. Somewhere around the age of 10 I had a writing project for school. I think that really sparked my interest. I began writing short stories through the years, but didn’t really take it serious until about 10 years ago.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

The time it takes. I try to be so descriptive and thorough that it takes me a long time to finish even a short story. I envy authors who boast about completing one in a week or a few days.

Do you have any advice for other writers seeking to get published for the first time?

Don’t give up. When someone says no, take their criticism as constructive, fix what needs to be fixed and submit it somewhere else. Perseverance goes a long way in this industry.

Mickie Sherwood, Author of 'Louisiana Hot Sauce'

Scribal Love Welcomes Mickie Sherwood

Mickie Sherwood is an author of contemporary romance.  Her new work is available from Red Rose Publishing.

Hi, Clare. Thanks for allowing me to share with your readers.   I thought I’d ask them the first questions.

Readers, how would you differentiate between erratic behavior and survival mode?   Have you ever been thrown for a loop and didn’t know which way to turn?   What did you do?   You probably adjusted your attitude to overcome the circumstances of the moment.

If that’s true, then I want to introduce you to a kindred spirit.

Meet Mesha Rayburn.  She’s smart, sassy and apt to change her hairstyle on a whim to match her mood.   The only thing she requires is something Jack Connolly refuses to allow—SOLITUDE.

Mesha’s saucy attitude masks a horrible secret.   Can Jack unveil the sweetness within?

Blurb:

Reclusive Mesha Rayburn's safe haven disintegrated when athletic Jack Connolly raced into her life.   He was like an uninvited guest to her pity party.   Yet, his brashness stoked her dormant emotions and injected spunk into her veins with every bated word.   And—calling the cinnamon-skinned Black woman "biggety" didn't help matters.

Mechanic Jack Connolly thought the trip down South to patch up and retrieve the bullet-ridden helicopter would be a pain. He never imagined the rhetoric becoming reality.   But, thanks to Mesha's panicked outcry, it had.   The pain radiating in his palm bothered him less than the one in his rear.   Bold and beautiful, he had to know why she hid out in the boonies. As her transient tenant, he intended to find out at the risk of feeling the sting of her Louisiana Hot Sauce temper.

What is the name of your latest book?  And how did you come up with the title?

The title of my pride and joy is Louisiana Hot Sauce. It’s my debut novel.   One reason I chose that title is because part of my love story is set in Louisiana where the flavor is always hot and spicy, whether it’s the weather, the food or the people.   The other reason for the title is to focus attention on Mesha’s hot and saucy attitude.

Mesha and Jack’s first meet:

Burped, fed, and ready to play, Mya was placed on a pallet spread out on the floor.  Mesha sat cross-legged before her, the laptop screen staring at her like a big-eyed specter waiting to steal her thoughts.  Writer’s block seemed an inevitable outcome to the looming deadline for her latest manuscript.  Too many distractions pulled her in too many directions.  Her lids fluttered rapidly as her eyes magnetized to the cursor’s hypnotizing blink.  Her descent into oblivion, merely a few seconds in length, was substantial enough to jerk her awake in such a terrorized state she launched upwards and rocketed outside.

“Jack!” Her terrified shriek rent the air as she bolted blindly, thinking she had left her dog out too long. “Jack!”

“Sonofabitch!” a man’s voice thundered as tools thudded to the ground at his feet.

The man repairing the helicopter missed his intended mark, stabbing the screwdriver into the fleshy part of his palm when he heard the panicked screams.  Gushing blood required him to apply pressure to the area with the work rag as he bent his tall body to clear the undercarriage of the craft.  The person he witnessed lurching towards him resembled a wild woman—one who teetered on the edge of sanity—as she zipped through the open field, thick hair flying every which way, evidently unaware of his presence.

“What?” he yelled while sprinting in her direction.   Suddenly, he saw her cut away and make a beeline for the house.

     He gave chase.

What is Louisiana Hot Sauce about?

It’s a multicultural romance about love’s magnetism. It’s about two strangers who find that sometimes the heart betrays the brain’s wishes.  It’s about Mesha and Jack as they learn to take a chance on each other.   She strives to escape torturous memories from her adolescence that always thrusts her into unwarranted limelight.   He struggles to shed the sting of betrayed love.

Clare, I have to snicker here. I like to say the war those two wage makes this a sweet, zesty read with just the right spice.

What inspired you to write this book?

That’s an easy question. I like romance that’s a little on the sensual side.   Something that let’s me conjure up a picture in my mind’s eye.   After reading posts on different blogs, I realized I wasn’t the only one who liked a change every now and then.   Now, please, I don’t want readers to take this as a criticism of other multicultural novels.  Because it’s not. Sometimes a Louisiana lady just likes sweet tea instead of the Long Island kind.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

Everyday living is crammed full of intriguing ideas that are plot worthy.

What were your feelings when you first saw the cover of the finished product?

I was ecstatic! Missy Lyons took the description I provided and worked wonders. The sweet cover for the enthralling, sweet romance novel depicts the character’s beauty—and that of her surroundings while her heart-fixer hovers nearby. I’m very pleased with the finished product.

Speaking of the cover, I entered Louisiana Hot Sauce in a cover contest over at YouGottaRead.com.  I’d appreciate it very much if readers would mark their calendars and vote for it between October 21st – October 26th.  Thanks a heap in advance.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I’m a panster. I hardly ever sit and plot out a story.  Now, I do fine tune an idea after the panster has laid it all out for me. Mostly though, I yield to the movies in my head when that blockbuster idea wants out.  I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Yes, I said movies in my head.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Cutting to the chase. I’ve been accused, let’s just say, of loving words. I’m working to remedy that in my future writings. As a matter-of-fact, I have a WIP that I’m whittling on right now.

How did you deal with rejection letters?

It’s wasn’t a pleasant feeling to get rejection letters.  But, if I didn’t submit what I believed was my best work, was I not resigning myself to instant defeat.  Now, what I think feels worse is waiting on a response from a submitted work.  I feel knowing one way or the other is better than the silent rejection, especially if the guidelines states to expect an acknowledgement—and you don’t get one—good or bad.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I love cruising. My favorite itinerary is the Southern Caribbean.  But, my all-time favorite cruise was the Panama Canal Zone.  The ship departed from Ensenada, Mexico where it continued its transit through the Panama Canal and docked in Puerto Rico.   It took about ten glorious days.

I like to take on small creative projects around the house.

I also love snapping pictures.  So, of course, I post some of my treasures on Mickie’s Manor.  I hope readers will take a look.

What was the first romance book you remember reading?

The Flame and the Flower, a historical romance.

What is your favorite romance book?

The Color of Love was my favorite until Louisiana Hot Sauce came along. (*GBG*) I hope that doesn’t sound conceited.

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

The message is a simple one, Clare.  Step out of your comfort zone, open your heart and cherish love wherever you find it.

Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to share with your readers.   Louisiana Hot Sauce is available at Red Rose Publishing,  Amazon.com , Fictionwise.com, Allromanceebooks.com, and Bookstrand.com.

I encourage readers to stop by Mickie’s Manor for a look around and to leave a comment. Also, visit Blazingtrailers.com to enjoy my book trailer.

Happy reading and I hope to hear from some of you real soon.
