Am Rethinking My Erotic Romance Series and Other Publishing Issues...

Books two and three are complete in The Love Play Matchmaking Service series but my publisher no longer wants them because they no longer publish M/F erotic romances.  But wait, you're problem saying to yourself, the two books below are menages and therefore aren't categorized as M/F erotic romances.

You're right!  However, the next two books in the series are-- I completed them and submitted Book 3 to the publisher of the series Siren Publishing.  They've turned down the books for many reasons, of which I will not go into at this juncture, reasons, in my opinion, make absolutely no sense.

But the gist of their reason for rejecting them is that they Siren no longer publishes M/F non-BDSM romances. That's what they told me. And since book 3 and subsequently, book 4 no longer fits within their new guidelines, I have to decide what to do with them.

I will keep you guys posted with further updates on the situation.

Seducing Cat Meghan's Playhouse by Adriana Kraft-They Didn't Know That She Planned On Seducing Them Too #RomanceNovel #Menage

What lengths would you go to if you wanted to seduce someone?

BLURB:

Level headed English Professor Caitlin Shanahan has finally earned tenure and purchased the century-old two-story house of her dreams in the college town of Burntside, Wisconsin—at thirty-four, she'd better face facts: her future is teaching college and writing plays, not falling in love. So why is she so drawn to foxy little hometown actress Meghan Keenan, who's rented her upstairs apartment, or worse, to the girl's gorgeous hunk of a lover Kurt Davis, a carpenter who's never even been to college?

Twenty-year-old Meg has a plan. First she'll seduce the reluctant professor, then she'll share her sexual delights with both Cat and her brawny carpenter, and when she's successfully brought them together, she can make her escape and explore what's beyond the only town she's ever lived in.

Kurt can't stand the up-tight professor who's hired him to build a gazebo and refurbish her old house—the house he wanted for himself. Even if Meg’s scheme succeeds, he knows Caitlin would never look at him twice. No need to go there in his fantasies…

~*~*~*~*~*~

What if the woman you want to seduce is a frosty English professor older than you by at least a decade—and what if, in addition to that, you want to get her hooked up with your current lover, a brawny carpenter?

Believe it or not, that’s Meg’s plan, and there’s hardly any length she won’t go to.  She’s only twenty, and the small-town world of Burntside, Wisconsin, is her apple. She stars in the local playhouse productions – directed, it turns out, by that same frosty English professor. Her goals? Have fun, have lots of uninhibited sex, enjoy the moment, and avoid any commitments that limit her freedom. She’s convinced that hooking Cat up with Kurt will bring them pleasure and set her free to pursue her next dream somewhere far away from Burntside.

In a nutshell, that’s her motivation. Our motivation in creating her? We set out to write a romp, not worrying too much at first about depth of character or character transformation. We crafted the broad strokes of a plot in which we could deliver some of our own favorite kinds of erotic scenes. But both we and our characters discovered deeper motivations as we delved into the project.

We’ll let readers discover how Meg grows and changes across the series, which covers nearly a decade of her life. We think she may surprise you! Our goals expanded beyond delivering hot sex scenes to exploring, in this book, how both a carpenter and a professor can shed their negative assumptions about each other and revel in the things it turns out they have in common. Much of the rest of the series also focuses on destroying stereotypes and blowing up assumptions, while never losing sight of creating sizzling mind-blowing ménage scenes. We think that makes for some surprising scorching combinations.

This five book series was originally released in 2009 by a different e-publisher. It’s been unavailable for over four years, and we’re thrilled Extasy Books has contracted to re-release it, completely revised and re-edited. In the meantime, Meg insisted we write one more adventure. The six books will release approximately every ten weeks. Watch for Book Two: A Woman for Zachary in early August!

In the excerpt below, Meg’s been sunbathing nude in the backyard of the house where she rents a room from the professor, the first steps in her seduction plan.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Excerpt:

Peering through shuttered eyelashes, Meg Keenan nearly purred. She’d seen the tall figure of Cat Shanahan leave the curtained window. Apparently the lanky redhead had no idea the sun struck the window in a way that showed her slim form off to nice advantage.

Meg snickered. Why else would she choose this particular time of day to come out onto the sundeck? Because the sun shining on the window exposed Cat to her view almost as much as she was exposed to Cat’s.

At least she had the woman’s attention. Meg closed her eyelids and exhaled slowly. Soon she’d have Cat’s body.

Stretching languidly, Meg smiled and sat up. Her plan was proceeding quite nicely. Kurt had been pissed she’d rented the professor’s upstairs apartment. Though Meg was quite comfortable being a townie, Kurt carried a chip on his shoulder about town-gown tensions. Was that part of why he’d never gone to college in spite of doing so well in high school? Instead, he and Jack Mobly had established a construction company. At twenty-four, Kurt had a certain amount of control over his life that Meg envied. He didn’t seem to care that there was a world outside Burntside, Wisconsin.

She, on the other hand, needed to see beyond the horizon. She hadn’t found her ticket out just yet, but she knew she’d find a way. Fortunately, they both knew that.

While she and Kurt had been lovers for two years, neither suffered under the illusion of any long-term commitments. She’d known him all her life. And they were very compatible lovers. What one partner didn’t think of, the other did, and being together meant they could enjoy their fascination with sex without having to deal with the meat market. Their relationship was one of convenience, yet quite satisfying.

But Meg was ready to leave Burntside, and she wanted Kurt to have something he didn’t even know he wanted. She wanted him to have Professor Caitlin Shanahan. And she’d given herself the assignment to make that happen.

(available for preorder – ready to read February 9):

Blurb:

Surrender is the only option she desires.

Taming the Beast, Book 3

No one believes that under the tough attitude and schoolgirl fashion sense, reformed demon Zoe burns for a man, love, and sex. She keeps those urges on ice and well hidden. She sold her soul for a guy once, and all it got her was a one-way ticket to Hell.

Her job, keeping supernatural creatures in line at From Crud to Stud, is all work and no play. Until she’s saddled with a trio of new enforcers who ooze so much sexual heat she’s afraid to be on the same planet with them.

Stefin, Anatol, and Taro try to contain their laughter as their adorable new boss tries to lay down the law. Apparently, no one told her they don’t take orders. They give them. And they’re determined to smooth her rough edges and tame her beast with acts so wanton they’ll make her scream—for more.

Talk about all hell breaking loose. Surrender won’t come easily, but given their devilish charm and her aching need, her journey to submission is one done deal.

Warning: Contains an unholy trio of demons who don’t like to take turns. Break room…
snacking. After-hours…training sessions. In other words, a sensual ride on the pleasure express. Features m/f/m/m sex in every flavor except vanilla. Bring. It. On.

Excerpt:

Becca stopped fingering the edge of her short red hair. “I don’t want you to keep killing yourself by working so hard.”

“How could I do that?’ She frowned. “I’m immortal.”

“That’s not what I meant.” Becca waved her hand dismissively. “I want you to enjoy your work.”

That funny feeling returned, making Zoe queasy. “Who says I don’t? Oh, hey, is this about Daemon horning in on more of my stuff? Uh-uh. He’s already keeping the clients in line for the other staff. I don’t need him to do that for me. I’m capable. Hell, I’m a better enforcer than him. I do not want—”

“No problem,” Becca cut in and then blurted, “Stefin, Anatol and Taro will be here for that from now on.”

Footfalls suddenly rang in the hall. Three men who looked to be in their early thirties strode into Becca’s office, their movements fluid and assured, each of them dressed in black, their shirts made of silk, their boots and pants dressy, like bouncers at an elite club.

No one was boogying in here, especially Zoe as she caught the unholy trio’s faint sulfur scent. Oh shit. Pinpoints of flame flared briefly in their eyes, proving they were demons. The trouble she’d sensed earlier.

Too stunned to speak or to move, she simply stared.

The guy in the middle was easily six-three and nicely muscular with blond shoulder-length hair, his rough good looks, bronze complexion and stubble virile to the extreme. There was a hint of sin, dangerous and predatory, in his light gray eyes.

Her belly fluttered at the thought of him on top of her, his strong legs pushing hers apart, his hand sliding up her—

She stopped before completing the smutty thought, noticing the ornate tat on the back of his left hand. A stylized goat’s head…the mark of the devil.

He winked.

Zoe’s legs went watery, disquiet and lust rolling through her. Ignoring both, she turned to the guy on his right and had to lock her knees again to keep standing. Equally tall and powerfully built, he was simply beautiful with rich-chocolate skin, dark eyes and long hair worn in dreadlocks that would feel awesome gliding across her naked boobs and thighs.

Stop it.

Zoe tried to push her X-rated fantasies away and steel herself against his allure.
He smiled. A freaking dimple dented his right cheek. His grin was an unusual mixture of boyish mischief and raw sensuality that creamed her pussy.

Tearing her attention from him, she studied the last guy. Hot didn’t begin to describe his masculine features, deep-blue eyes and thick, wavy hair a dark shade of auburn. Those locks trailed past his ears and curled at the base of his neck. His stubble called to everything female within Zoe, the same as his height, big body and the assured way he regarded her.

Beneath the enticing fragrance of sulfur, she caught their musky scents, wanton and unashamed, surely the same fragrance as their cocks. She imagined their shafts jutting from nests of blond, black or auburn curls, their balls meaty and lightly furred.
The room spun.

“Guys,” Becca said, “this is Zoe.”

Becca’s introduction seemed to have come from miles away. Zoe tried to respond but only managed a noise somewhere between a grunt and a groan.

Becca edged closer. “Zoe, this is Anatol.” She gestured to the black hunk with the dimple. “Stefin.” The blond god in the middle winked again. “And Taro.” The blue-eyed hottie continued to regard her intensely. “They’re our new enforcers.”

Each of them looked as if he’d been in charge forever and wouldn’t budge one damn inch for anyone, especially a female demon.

“You’ll be working with them from now on,” Becca added.

Working with or for, as in taking orders, yearning helplessly and then losing out as she had with the last man in her life?

Like hell.

Excerpt:

A human, a vampire and a werewolf walked into a bar. Sounds like the start of a bad joke. I can assure you it isn’t. And telling you that, actually, the human and the vampire walked into the bar together, and found the werewolf already there, probably doesn’t make it sound any better. Well tough, because that’s the way it went down.

Ace and I met at a Halloween fancy dress party. I know, I know—cliché of clichés. And yes, he was dressed as a vampire—Albeit a horrendously exaggerated one—all slicked-back hair, über pale skin and visible fangs. In real life, he actually looks no different to you or I. Okay, he is a bit pale. But at the time, I’d laughed at him and asked if he thought vampires weren’t a bit overdone—it was when Twilight was at the height of its popularity—all angsty teens and stalkerish behavior.

He’d laughed right back, a joyous, melodious sound that had heat pooling in my groin—then as suddenly as it had arrived, his mirth disappeared. Then he’d said, “Overdone or not, we’re here to stay. And I don’t fucking sparkle.”

My heart had been pounding, and my mouth had gone dry. Somehow, I’d known he wasn’t joking. And, although my conscious brain had shut down, my subconscious had had my back, because I’d heard myself say, “Well, thank fuck for that, because I’ve never been a fan of glitter.”

He’d laughed again, the sound tugging at my very core. And—apologies for yet another cliché—we’ve been together ever since.

Several years later and we’re still as madly in love as ever, and still fucking like rabbits. Sex with a vampire is everything you’d expect it to be—energetic, powerful, finessed, mind-blowing and packed with stamina. Providing you can keep up, that is.

In addition to our unquenchable lust for each other, Ace and I have engaged in bondage, sex toys, spanking, anal, pegging—almost an A to Z of things to do in bed. Some we’ve tried and discarded, others have been a regular part of our sexual repertoire.

And yet, our latest adventure was the most exciting yet. You see, after mine and Ace’s initial meeting, I was given an almighty education in everything it meant to be a vampire. Myths were dispelled, other beliefs were confirmed—he definitely didn’t sparkle—and yet more things I’d never even thought of were seared into my brain.

So when Ace announced he had a friend who was a werewolf, I didn’t even bat an eyelid. It was the follow up information that surprised me.

“He wants to what?” The tone of my voice by the end of the sentence was so high that probably only dogs could hear me. And yet it was genuine surprise, rather than disapproval, that fuelled my reaction.

Raising his eyebrows, Ace gave me that sexy smirk that always gets my blood pounding through my veins and my pussy aching to be filled. “You heard me, Aneesa. My friend Barton would like to screw you. With me present, of course, and actively taking part.”

“A th-threesome?” I stumbled over the word—not because I was horrified. Quite the opposite, in fact. Being fucked by two hot guys at once had long been on my sexual bucket list—a list that, since meeting Ace, had had items checked off it at a rate of knots. I was going to have to start thinking of some more shit to put on it. I was way too young to have completed my bucket list—sexual or not—for Christ’s sake!

Fever Hitch; A Paranormal Scifi Erotic (M/F/M) Menage Romance By Ayla Ruse

Hi Clare, and thank you for having me stop by your blog today. I’m stoked about a recent paranormal/sci-fi, erotic romance I have out and I can’t wait to share more with you and your readers.

Imagine, if you will, a popular comic book convention. You have booths, you have stuff for sale, you have panels and people-who-know-someone or is-someone. Best of all are the plethora of costumes. People go to great lengths (and money) to paint, sew and decorate themselves as their favorite characters. Some are so realistic you’d never guess a human was beneath it all.

Now, take it step farther…what if the costume weren’t a costume. I know I’m not the only one to have such thoughts. Well, in my latest Changeling Press release, Fever Hitch, this very thing happens.

Fever Hitch is the first book in the Earth Con series—books that explore the idea of aliens interacting within a supposedly human convention. Several Changeling Press authors have signed up for this series and mine is only the tip of the iceberg of what will come. For now though, sit back and discover a little more of what makes Fever Hitch, tick.

Blurb

She’ll be their perfect mate…if they can keep her satisfied

Felicia Walker loves her job as an illustrator at Fever Hitch Comics. During this year’s annual Earth Con, she will not only draw caricatures, but she’ll also be decked out in body paint to represent the F’ldae—an alien species from the comics. As she and a friend excitedly start a night off exploring the off-limits, alien side of the convention, Felicia is unprepared for the spiraling events that will make her behave like a true F’ldae…in full mating heat.

Agent Slate Reese wants to settle down, but the universe seems to be against him. Metons are supposed to have multiple mates in a relationship. He, along with his best friend Agent Ryker Seals, should have found a female years ago. Instead, they can’t find a compatible mate to save their starry skins. When an investigation lands in their laps that demands they attend the chaotic Earth Con, Slate could care less, but Ryker sees this as an opportunity to relieve his partner’s tensions. With the vast assortment of alien species converging on this one area, surely there’s at least one female who wouldn’t mind spending a night with the both of them.

When the three come together, it’s explosive. But all is not right. The agents believe Felicia a true alien, and the one that will complete them. Felicia, on the other hand, is simply trying to make it through the next minute without insatiable lust overriding her senses. And in between all this, someone is distributing an illegal alien drug that can spell disaster to many species in attendance.

Some say Earth Con is a once-in-a-lifetime event, but will this particular one be the last for Felicia, Slate and Ryker, or will it be the beginning of many yet to come?

Excerpt

Ryker lifted the drink to his lips and took a long swig. “Ah, Tazar beer. Nothing else like it in the universe.”

“You aren’t shittin’ me,” Slate mumbled, sipping modestly of his drink. “Stuff tastes like crap. I don’t see how you stomach it.”

“Acquired taste, my man.”

Slate grunted and set his forearms on the table.

“Do you think we’ll get any hits?” he asked Ry.

Ry shrugged and watched various species interact on the dance floor. “It’s a big convention. We made our rounds, dropped our hints, left our contacts. Now we sit and wait.”

Slate rubbed his huge hands together. “Something feels off.”

“You ever been to a con before?”

Slate shook his head no.

“They always feel off, like the universe is tilted or something. I think it’s because of the huge intermix of species coupled with the fact that we’re in an alternate plane here. Remember, the humans have not accepted other species as a general rule, so our presence is still relatively unknown to the humans next door.”

Slate chuckled. “You’ve always been the analyzer.”

“It’s why you keep me as your partner.”

The men shared a brief chuckle, then Slate spoke up again.

“Remember that walkway over on the human side? It was near the booth for that comic book place.”

“You mean Fever Hitch -- they’re the ones sponsoring this whole thing. But yeah, I remember. Why?”

“Did you see the F’ldae onstage?”

“No. Really? They don’t go out much. That species is frightened of their own skin.”

“Exactly. So why am I seeing the same F’ldae on the dance floor?”

Ry whipped his head around to where Slate was boring a hole through a female. Yes, it was a F’ldae, and Ry couldn’t believe his eyes. The little female was snuggled up next to a Bulzant, and that overgrown plastic looking thing looked to almost swallow the female. She turned bright eyes up to it and said something that made the Bulzant quiver.

“Damn, I never knew that species could move like that,” Ry said, amazed.

“What? The F’ldae?”

“No, the Bulzant.”

“Does it look like she’s okay to you?”

“Who? The F’ldae? Yes. She’s jamming right along --“ Ry cut his words off as his eyes zeroed in on her.

“What?” Slate wanted to know.

Ry chuckled. “Looks like your timid little creature is in heat.”

“What do you mean?”

“Wait until she turns -- there. See the orange markings along her ribcage? When a F’ldae goes into heat, those markings show up.”

Ry shifted back to his drink and noticed Slate hadn’t taken his eyes off the female. Hmm…
On the human side, he’d noticed Slate staring at the walkway but hadn’t thought too much about it. It seemed that F’ldae had caught his eye. And seeing her move on the dance floor just a little bit ago had caught Ry’s eye.

A F’ldae. In heat.

They didn’t have to ask her to be their third in a permanent relationship, but maybe he could sweet talk her into being their third for the night.

A Sexy Paranormal Erotic Menage Romance; Werewolves in the Kitchen by Shauna Aura Knight

Blurb:

When Ellie moved to the SpiralStone retreat center to figure out her life, she expected peace, quiet, and spiritual practice. She had no idea that the two sexy men running the kitchen would seduce her…much less at the same time. Kyle and Jake turn out to be wilder than they seem and Ellie finds herself wrapped up in devastating magic. She must choose: stay with Jake and Kyle and risk who she has been, accepting the dangerous world of shapeshifters? Or leave them and risk madness, or worse?

An Excerpt:

Jake turned the shower on while Kyle kissed her senseless. Ellie threaded her fingers into Kyle’s short blond curls, and suddenly Jake was behind her, untying her shorts. Kyle drew her top up, and she could feel Jake’s bare chest against her back.

She was just in her bra and panties when Kyle released her to pop the button on his jeans. Then he kissed her again, nipping his way down her body.

Jake made an appreciative noise from behind her, and she turned her head. He kissed her, grinding his hips against her buttocks. Distracted by Jake kissing her, she gasped when Kyle brushed his fingers over her mound, rubbing her through her panties. He nipped at her hip, and she felt him dragging her underwear down. She tugged him up and kissed him.

“Shower first,” she murmured.

Kyle grinned, placing her hands on the waistband of his jeans to tug them off. Her jaw dropped just a little as his length sprung out. “Oh my,” she whispered.

He drew her to him and into the steaming shower, kissing her. Jake closed the glass shower door behind him; it was just big enough for three. She took them both in before they drew closer.

Jake tipped her head back into the water to wet it before he began lathering up her hair, his fingers massaging her scalp as she blissed out.

Kyle grabbed a washcloth and washed her from shoulders to feet until she shivered. Ellie blushed and protested when his fingers slipped between her folds until she moaned. Jake claimed her lips as Kyle began to circle her pearl where she was slick with arousal. “So wet, baby.”

Jake slid his hands over her body, down to her buttocks, lathering up her back with body wash as Kyle drove two fingers into her pussy.

She cried out into Jake’s mouth at the sensation. She’d never been kissed like this before—the hot water falling on them, Jake’s tongue lapping at her lips even as Kyle was pleasuring her where she’d been swollen and hot for them for so long.

Ellie moaned, thrusting down onto Kyle’s fingers. How many times had she blushed, fantasizing about them doing this to her? She was already on the edge of orgasm from the thrill of having them both totally focused on her pleasure and so many days without release.

Kyle circling her pearl had her gasping for breath against Jake’s lips. “That’s it,” he murmured, stroking in and out.

Their touches finally drove her over the edge. Ellie cried out, bucking, and they had to hold her up as her knees gave. Jake kissed her, and then Kyle kissed her, and she threaded her fingers through both their hair while they murmured sweet things, petting her.

“Feel a little better?” Kyle asked, and she blushed.

“I’ll take that as a yes,” Jake grinned.

She panted, knowing the two of them were not done with her yet.

Lila Munro is The Author of the Sensual Erotic Romance "Identity Crisis." Come Check It Out!

Lila Munro is an author of contemporary erotic romance encompassing everything from the sensual to BDSM and menage. Her newest work 'Identity Crisis' is available from Rebel Ink Press.

What is the name of your latest book?  And how did you come up with the title?

My latest creation available is Identity Crisis. The title came about because one of the heroes, Chad Dearborn, literally struggles with who he is and what he wants from his relationship with his wife, Tori.

What is this book about?  And what genre is this book in?

Identity Crisis is a contemporary erotic romance with BDSM and ménage elements. I think the blurb does it justice in telling what it’s about:

Someone once said you never truly know a person, Chad Dearborn was raised with a silver spoon in his mouth. He was given everything a person could want and more, country clubs were his daycares and Paris and London his playgrounds. Heir to Dearborn Inc., Chad stands to inherit a veritable fortune. But the problem is his parents want to gift him the perfect wife to go with it. A woman in the form of a molded, plastic, jet set dolly. Certainly not Chad’s idea of an ideal mate. He wants a woman that can hold her own, in and out of the bedroom. Who knew he’d find her in one of Portland’s hottest leather clubs? Chad was fascinated by what went on there, but something just wouldn’t let him cross that line.
until you sleep with them.

Country clubs? Europe? The closest Tori Myers ever came to those things were the covers of magazines. With an absent father, a less than attentive mother and nowhere to go, Tori finds herself drawn to an alternative lifestyle at the tender age of eighteen. Vertigo is a treasure chest of Dom’s willing to give her anything she wants. But when Chad Dearborn walks through the door, Tori figures out sometimes what your heart wants isn’t necessarily what your body is willing to compromise to have.
Or do you?

The thing that just wouldn’t let Chad cross the line with his sexuality has come home to roost. And as a result, he's faced with a huge decision. Accept who he is and what he wants.  Or continue to fight the biggest identity crisis of his life.

Who is/are the main characters?  And why did you choose them?

The main players in Identity Crisis are Chad Dearborn, Tori Dearborn and Ren Taylor. I’m not so sure I chose them so much as they chose me to tell their story. I was doing research for book two in another series I am writing and it occurred to me I was quite intrigued by the lifestyle that Chad, Tori and Ren live, and the sociology major in me itched to learn more. The more I researched the louder Chad spoke to me. He was the first character to make an appearance, followed by his wife Tori and finally Ren, who was a surprise really. I didn’t know Ren was invited until he showed up with his party invitation in hand.

What is the coolest or best part about your book?

I do have a favorite scene in the book in which I really got to showcase all the things I learned about the lifestyle during my research. The scene is one in which Tori accepts Ren as part of her and Chad’s relationship on a permanent basis and Ren marks her. I was really able to highlight the dichotomy of the Dom/sub relationship and all its complexities in a manner of paragraphs. I’d share the scene here, but it has such a heat level I’m fear it may be inappropriate to share with a mixed audience.

Do you have a favorite character in the book?  If so, why?

I love all three of my characters for different reasons. I love that Chad struggles with who he is and what he wants but still tries to account for Tori’s feelings and needs. Tori is so down to earth and although she’s been give the world on a silver platter she never forgets where she came from, and, well, Ren…he just does it for me. The man oozes Dom and masculinity and tempers it with a healthy dose of understanding and compassion.

Is this book part of a series?  If so? What can we expect in future books?

Yes, Identity Crisis in book one in this series. Book two, True Identity is slated to release in June with Master Steph and Jill’s story between the covers, and the third installment is due out this fall.

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

In every book I write in looking back I find things I would have changed or expounded upon. In this particular work, I was just learning the ins and outs of how this lifestyle works and I realize now that some of Tori’s vocabulary may be a bit off, but I’ve pinpointed that now and know to do differently in the next book.

Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?

I learned that I have a submissive personality and am a pleaser. I’d always suspected as much, but my research confirmed it.

Do you have a publisher?  And if so, why did you choose them?

At present I am contracting for several works through Rebel Ink Press and am very happy there. I chose them because they work on the philosophy of quality is more important than quantity and they are intent to raise the bar on quality in e-publishing. They give their writers top-notch service through a full staff that include full time editors, an in house graphic arts department and they have a marketing and public relations staff to help with promotion.

If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

There are so many I’m not sure I could choose just one. Sparks, Banks, Sinclair…the list goes on.

What books are you reading now?

I try to read what I write. Lately I’ve been indulging in a lot of Maya and Cherise Sinclair, but I’ve also taken a liking to m/m and have read a lot of Andrew Grey lately. For anyone that has a hard time reading m/m because of lack of story line Andrew will not disappoint. His stories have a story and not just a lot of poorly written sex.

What are the current writing projects that you are working on?

Currently I have works in progress on four separate series. I’m working on book two of the Identity series, book two of the Delaney Brothers series, book two of the Force Recon series—an anthology project with three other writers, and I’m working on a series called The Sergeants of Echo Company. I’ve got a full plate and enough to last well into next year.

Do you write full time?

Fortunately my husband provides well for me and with my nest empty I can indeed devote all my time to writing.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I’ve had an interest in making up stories well before I could even read. Many people have read my account of how Santa brought a toy typewriter one year for Christmas and I wore it out. In fact, I just finished a blog post about how I am sure my muse new which genre we would gravitate to even then. Funny how those little love notes in second grade can be the beginning of epic love stories.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

I am my worst critic. My greatest challenge is living up to my own expectations which I feel I never do. I’m a stickler for detail and realism, so I’d say making sure I get it right is a struggle at times.

Do you have any advice for other writers seeking to get published for the first time?

Do your research. Check out potential publishers thoroughly before committing to any of them. I went so far as to check with the BBB to make sure potential publishers didn’t have any pending legal actions against them. Many small presses won’t make it past their first three years and legal problems attribute to that. Make sure their philosophy matches your own and their goals mirror yours. Ask other people that write for them about their experiences. Most of them are more than willing to tell you how they feel and if they’ve had a good experience or not.

An electric hum sizzled across Tori Dearborn’s sun kissed skin, setting the tiny hairs on her arms and on the back of her neck on edge as she stared at the outfit hanging over the closet door in her bedroom. It was quite a number. A set of red leather chaps accompanied a red leather corset and matching g-string. Tori walked over and buried her face in the chaps, inhaling deeply, and a slow, delicious warmth enveloped her sending a dull ache straight to the core of her womb. Leather. New leather. God how that smell turned her on.

Tori reluctantly pulled her face away from the chaps long enough to notice the accessories set upon her satin covered pillow along with an envelope. She walked over and picked up the red leather handcuffs that lay there. Her fingers glided over the smooth edges of the restraints wishing her husband was home right this minute to try them out on her. But Chad was away on business. It was the first time in their five year marriage he would miss their anniversary, but clearly by the gifts he’d left behind this morning before leaving, he was anticipating quite a homecoming to make up for it.

Never in her wildest imagination would Tori have ever thought to marry someone like Chad Dearborn. Not only was he a successful VP at a top notch land development firm, he’d had the good fortune of growing up in the lap of luxury. He’d enjoyed the best private education money could buy and all the amenities to go along with it. Private country club memberships, private music lessons from some of the world’s elite musicians, and European vacations. But none of those things compared to the one thing about Chad that had almost kept Tori from marrying him. Chad was the most conservative and restrained man she’d ever known. When he’d discovered her lifestyle choices Chad was less than thrilled, but he professed a love so deep he agreed to try to somehow make their relationship work through some creative compromises.

For three hundred sixty two days a year, Tori would be the model conservative wife. She would dress appropriately for the country club life, mingle in all the right circles, and attend all the necessary functions. That wasn’t to say that the lifestyle was completely absent those three hundred sixty two days. In the privacy of their own home, Tori sat at Chad’s feet and he fed her. He put her on a pedestal and she wanted for nothing. And in the bedroom he would occasionally pull out a silk scarf and blindfold her. But the full on, leather and bondage games that Tori thrived on were restricted to special occasions. On those three days of the year, Christmas Eve, Tori’s birthday, and her and Chad’s anniversary, Tori was allowed to be the leather loving submissive that Chad had found in a less than conservative club one night while he was out rebelling against his parents desires for him to marry a stick figure Barbie from the jet set.

It wasn’t love at first sight by any means. In fact, Tori resisted him with sass and even tried to turn him off.

“Hey, Tori,” J.C., Tori’s best friend, said. “Baby Trump over there’s giving you the eye.”
“You mean Richie Rich?” Tori laughed. She’d noticed him when he first walked into Vertigo. “I don’t think he realizes he’s not in Kansas anymore.”

The man J.C. referred to sat at the end of the long stainless steel bar in his faded Lucky low slung jeans and indigo ED Hardy tee shirt. He stuck out like a sore thumb as everyone around him was wearing black or red and most of the attire was leather. Tori could plainly tell he didn’t belong in Vertigo, but he didn’t seem daunted by the fact that he was an anomaly and made himself at home on the black leather clad stool with the big silver rivets all around the edges. Completely oblivious to anyone else, he nursed a tumbler of whiskey and steadily stared at Tori.

“Maybe you should take him on the tornado tour.” J.C. laughed cynically and twirled her flogger around her wrist.

“I don’t think he’s my type, J.C. Maybe you should be the one to break him in…not so gently. He looks like a sub to me. He’s more your type.”

J.C. alit from her stool and left Tori’s side. She walked down the bar and stopped beside the man that didn’t belong. After a few words were exchanged J.C. came back and once again took up residence on the stool next to Tori.

“Well, Madame? Any luck?” Tori asked and took another sip of her Royal Flush.

“Nope. He says to tell you someday he’s gonna marry you,” J.C. told her and laughed again.

“Whatever. He’s just another rich boy out to sow his wild oats before settling down with whichever playmate of the year mommy and daddy have picked out for him.” Tori hopped off her stool. “However, he’s the worst dressed one I’ve ever seen in here. Most of them at least try to fit in for their one night of glory.”

Tori’s eyes met the man’s in a steady gaze and as she maintained that contact, she walked across the dance floor to a Master named Rio. Rio wasn’t a Master by accident. He could take a submissive where he or she wanted to go so well, they often times never realized the trip was so painful. Never breaking eye contact with the man on the stool, Tori allowed Rio to claim her for the night. Rio ran his big hand down the thin silver chain that hung on his belt, took the clasp at the end and attached it to the open lock collar Tori wore around her neck. She shot the man a taunting smile and locked her bright blue eyes on his rich chocolate ones as Rio led her away to a private room.
